Military Duffel Bag Top Load Double Strap Canvas Backpack Army Travel

We live in the Southern Appalachians and are doing a great deal of landscaping with rocks found right here on the mountain. Unfortunately those rocks have to be moved by hand due to the steep terrain. Meanwhile, rucking, hiking with a weighted pack has become all the rage with fitness enthusiasts. This canvas bag serves both purposes- so far I’ve been able to carry a load of 80 lbs or so repeatedly up 8 to 13 percent grades for multiple meters/yards with no issues (other than a seriously high heart rate haha) . This canvas bag is outstanding!

Good, tough bag. Carries a lot of stuff. I waterproofed it using a sillicon-based camping spray. It is made like a big cylinder without much inner pockets and seperators and is very easy to use; fill it up and you're ready to go. No messing around trying to remember where you put this or that at the airport - undo the clasp, open it, get what you need and close it back. My new EDC backpack. TL;DR : Big and sturdy. Carries a lot of stuff. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I bought this for a trip and was able to fit soo much. Be warned that if you are short it will look huge on you and they will ask you to prove it fits in the personal item box. (My husband had the same backpack and didn’t get stopped) Luckily, the lack of side pockets means you can punch it into the right shape if necessary. Even the flight attendant told us it looked too big for under the sit. It absolutely fit. It’s well made with high quality canvas. The straps are comfortable. I was able to fit a whole week worth of outfits, thin pair of sandals and a pair of flip flops. Honestly, I’ll definitely be using it again for trips but I’m not sure I’ll use it for airplane travel again. It worked great and it fit a lot but I was the only one security stopped and made us go back twice to prove size.

Edit - now own both small and large. Small is great for picking up groceries for one meal for a family of four. Large is groceries for four for the whole day. I wanted a simple backpack that I could carry groceries walking home from the store and this fit the bill perfectly. Easy and quick to load and close (once you watch video and see how to latch it closed). I got the “small” but more than enough for a load of groceries.

I would recommend reinforcing where the shoulder straps meet the bag. I put 2 pop rivets on each side. Other than that a great and sturdy backpack, well worth the price.
