Q: how long will it take to fade? I want a necklace that will stay bright my whole life.

This will be my third chain from this company, the last two replaced under warranty. The first one was 2mm and 24" long and lasted over a year, in spite of being worn 24/7 and 2-2 1/2 hours a day six days a week in the gym, before it turned green and started coming apart. The last one was 3mm and one of the links broke after a month, but replaced under warranty.
