Extended Doorbell Transmitter/Receiver for wired home doorbell system. Works Great!
This product works perfectly, replacing a somewhat similar device that finally stopped working after 25 years. The chimes sound really very good with a lo and hi volume switch and it does give a dual chime for the front door and a single chime for the back door using the third connection wire if the wired doorbell supports that option. Also it seems that additional receivers are available to add on. I just needed one for the basement. The perfect solution at a very reasonable price.

Installation Instructions / Model Number / Product Description - Inaccurate or Misleading
I am giving 4 stars because the product worked, though I ordered with much less confidence, as to whether it will work with my existing Nutone wired doorbell. Wiring instructions were straight forward, however pairing step was not described very well. I rolled up my sleeves to get this set up in no time and have it working. As quick as my installation was, no sound heard when the doorbell was pushed. I pressed the program button and heard the beep and assumed it is paired. No luck after several attempts. I decided maybe it is not compatible and got the packing ready to be returned the next day.I decided to read the reviews to see if I am missing any step. Luckily one of our reviewers mentioned about the pairing and thought of giving it one last try. I inserted into a wall socket near to my existing doorbell and requested my wife to push the doorbell while I kept the program button pressed. After four attempts, it seemed to have paired and gave a long ding tone. I hated the fact that the ring tone is going to be just a "ding". Now, I moved the extender to a different place of my house, where I originally wanted it to be, it's about 20 feet away with four drywalls in-between. Pressed the doorbell again, VIOLA, it worked and the ring tone was different too and is acoustic! It is no longer just a "ding". My wife liked it! which means the project is a success!Points to Note:1) The installation instruction could have been more clear about pairing2) The Model Number mentioned is not what was delivered. Both the extender and the receiver had different numbers than what is on the box. One other reviewer clearly mentioned this with pictures. Please refer to that3) Product description mentioned 10 different sounds and 2 different tones at a couple of places, which is conflicting. Why don't they just describe what the product was designed for, without much exaggeration?4) It is definitely expensive. I would have definitely bought Carlon Extend-A-Chime if it would have been available

Doorbell is much better now
This traditional doorbell extender is working great for us so far. Easy install. In addition to the one "chime" included, I ordered another chime and paired that to the existing system, so I could have a chime downstairs in our kitchen and one upstairs in our hallway. It's all working as expected. It was super-easy to pair the chimes with the extender component that sends the signal to the chimes to make some noise when the outside doorbell button is pressed. I paired two chimes, they both paired the same way, they both work, it was really straight-forward. The one small documentation nag is that when pairing the documentation says to press the "pair" button on the chime, but on my chimes there is only a "program" button, so I pressed the "program" button, everything worked first try. The only caution I'd like to share is that when you are installing the extender into the existing wired doorbell, be gentle with the wires (especially old, but new wires too). In my case the original doorbell wires at my house have been in place for nearly 40 years, so I was gentle when connecting the new leads (front, trans, back) to the existing doorbell, gently folding wires back to fit within the doorbell cover, nothing broke, it's all working as expected so far, and it looks great too.

Does not reach 500'
Got this to provide my mother with the ability to hear the doorbell when she is in the back end of her house. She has a one story ranch, and the original doorbell is in the living room that the front door opens up to. The den, is in the back of the house, which is L shaped. I installed the product as instructed, and plugged the received in the outlet in the den that is closest to the doorbell. It is 60 feet, however you do have to go around 2 corners. NOT, walls, or lead, or brick or anything, just around corners. It did not work. I plugged it in the living room (about 10 feet from the doorbell) and it worked. I moved it another 10 feet away (around the first corner) and it didn't work. To say it has a 500' range is ridiculous. I guess if you had a 500' single room with no corners or walls then this product would be perfect (although at this point you wouldn't need an extender) as it seems to need to have a line of site to work. Don't waste your money on this product.
