Edit: ok so when I first wrote my review, I had only looked at them for obvious damage, and then took one out to inspect it more closely. Since then I’ve looked at them all more and out of the 5 I bought, only the first one I looked at has those loud hinges. So to me 1 out of 5 isn’t bad at all. I’m not sure why one has loud hinges or how to fix those hinges, but it was just the one... maybe it is the last one in a bad batch or something because the other 4 are silent and the lid lies much flatter than the first one as well. Bumped the star rating because I think the pound hinge thing is a fluke. Anyone buying these for tarantulas: I bought these because the tarantulas I thought wouldn’t be able to ship, turned out could ship sooner than the cages I bought for them would arrive ( thankfully the seller was able to delay shipment, so it worked out) anyways I bought these just in case the T’s got here first and I needed fast diy housing. They are a good size and shape. They seem sturdy. However there are a few surface blemishes ( I’m not super worried about them, but someone might be depending on how big a scratch and where it is) my big problem is the hinge is SO LOUD! Unless I find a safe way to quiet them down I imagine a tarantula would be scared out of its mind every time you open the lid. Also of note, the lid doesn’t actually seal closed. A YouTube T guy mentions that his shelving unit helps keep the lids closed, and I imagine that would work, but there is still a convex section in the middle of the lid that never really settles flat. Not big enough for a tarantula to get out of AT ALL, but personally I like my tarantulas cages to be fully closed! Maybe if your shelf is like exactly the right size to hold it down it would work, but my plan of putting acrylic hinges on the front won’t hold the lid flat. So long story short. It will work in a pinch, but I’m glad my actual tarantula cages will get here before the tarantulas so I don’t have to use these. Also since these technically aren’t made for tarantulas I’m leaving the rating high, because for storing shoes like their original intention is, they will work just fine -though the hinge is still super loud ( check my video) so that would still be annoying even if you aren’t a tarantula.

Bought one of these to try out for shoe storage and I love it. I wanted something transparent to keep my nicer shoes in, to get them off of my wood floor/out of the air which both are frequently dusty and this box is excellent! Clear, very stylish, protective and functional. If I could change one thing, I’d make the box so that the lid snapped shut or secured in some way — currently, it doesn’t seal at all. But still, my shoes won’t get dusty and will not fall victim to spills/flooding (god forbid) which is what I wanted. My shoes are a size 8 for reference. Perfect for flats or smaller, less clunky heels. My pumps fit in sideways, but only barely. Will definitely be investing in a few more of these! The price tag is worth the splurge, as long as you have maybe 5 pairs of nicer shoes to box and not 50..!

there are several bad reviews here complaining of squeaky hinges, stickers with goopy residue, warped/ill fitting lids - mine was pretty much perfect. it was wrapped in a plastic bag which protected the case from the ‘side’ sticker, and the sticker inside on the bottom peeled off easily with no residue. the hinge doesn’t squeak. the lid fits great, and while it doesn’t snap firmly closed, a little ingenuity can remedy that licketty split. the plastic is crystal clear, and though there IS a minor thickness distortion in one corner, overall it’s a heckuva lot nicer to look through than any ‘critter keeper’ from the pet store. the walls are somewhat thin(and i imagine brittle as well) so make sure you use a new(or at least sharp) drill bit for making air holes; take your time, let the drill do the work, and it should be fine. hope this helps! for what this thing costs compared to purpose-built terrariums, you can’t beat it.

Let's be real, some of y'all are here to see about a cheap and new spider enclosure. This is that review. Pros: Good size, nice and deep, plastic is very clear, you can probably make better ventilation holes than me Cons: Lid is connected via hinge. Hinge is very squeaky after just a couple days and it freaks the spider out. The lid also bulges upward in the middle, and it doesn't even pretend like it's going to close securely. You'll need to put something on top of this box if you'd prefer to keep a sizeable spider inside, rather than watching you sleep at night from a dark corner of your bedroom. So basically if you want something on the cheap that you can use for keeping a tarantula, keep looking. I was going to say that the bowed lid isn't a deal breaker, but that noisy hinge combined with it is a killer. I'll build Pierogi a better home in a few months.

Perfect for displaying collectibles. Crystal clear, roomy. Great price--much less expensive than equivalents.I especially like that the bottom panel is hinged on one end. Permanently attached via the hinge which makes it easier and more stable. Of course, that side could be used as the top instead of bottom. Easily for adding item or filling if used as a bin. I will definitely buy more for displaying and keeping collectibles dust-free. Much easier to dust this box than whatever I'm displaying, especially when it come to fabric or fibers. Using mine to display a piece of felted art. Would be great for displaying favorite new or vintage collectible stuffed toy, fiber art, fabric clothed doll or action figure, shoes. Container Store has some nice acrylic display box options but not a big enough selection. This is the perfect size for several items I want to display. I can't say enough. I'm very pleased. 5 stars.

I was looking for an acrylic box big enough to perserve my bridal-shower bouquet and my wedding bouquet. This was perfect! It is very sturdy and my flowers fit in it very well. The top does not have a secure way to close it, meaning if it tips over it could open. However I was able to glue it closed with my glue-gun. This was perfect for me for my craft idea. But if you are looking for something to store shoes or even an item of clothing (mittens, beanies, etc) this is ideal! I can find MANY perfect used for this. The size is just right to place on a shelf to keep your special shoes safe or store those mittens without them smelling musky packed away. I will be buying this again!

I treat this gently. The lid is attached so you must be careful while it is open. Otherwise perfect so I can store and my camera and photography accessories. Saves me so much time having every thing in one place and being able to see what I have. I currently store my Canon Rebel, iPad, cords, cameras light, microphone, light batteries, chargers, cords, 2 small remote controls, external hard drive, camera light, selfie stick, USB cords, extra batteries, power cords, i-pencil, notebook and lighting dongle and I still have more space if I needed it. Planning to purchase another to store light bulbs (the big ones) and anything I need to have in one place and keep it visible. A little on the pricey side but the convenience it lends is worth the time a save firm when I was forever searching through bags and drawers.

This is a really nice, solid, and sturdy display case. I use it to actually store some vintage LEGO sets until I can get a proper glass display set up, and for that it works well. Unfortunately, it’s not as clean or as pristine as I hoped (or as photos illustrate). There’s some smudging and scratches on the case, making it hard to properly see what’s inside. It makes the items look less special or cool, imo. Still, if you just need some storage, it’s pretty good and solid. Just don’t expect to display your items in it for others to see. In that regard it’s a bit of a let down.

These make excellent enclosures for terrestrial and fossorial.tarantulas and other large arachnids. The plastic is sturdy and clear, both important details for enclosures, and ventilation holes can easily be added with a simple soldering tool. These make great, affordable alternatives, to Exo Terra, ZooMed, Zilla,and other hobby brands. Only criticism here is the need for a latch or weight to keep the lid down to prevent stronger species escaping. This is easily resolved with a small weight placed on the lid.
