Works well, tighten the screw before you drill.
This drill works very well. Make sure that you clear the chips as you go. I usually go into the hole 4 times before I get to full depth. Also, be sure to tighten the set screw on the side with an Allen key before you drill. Mine was lose when it was shipped and the drill got stuck in the first hole. It was easy enough to pull out with some pliers though.

Needed tool for using confirmation screws
If you are going to be using confirmat screws on your melamine project this is a must have tool. It will predrill and countersink holes perfectly for the fastening of the joints.

Does Exactly What It's Supposed To Do
If you're building cabinets and planning to use confirmat screws - sometimes also called connector screws, although several different shaped fasteners use that name - this little drill bite will make you're life so much easier. It has a 3 stage profile that's just right for a 7x50mm confirmat screw so that your screws can bit firmly into the perpendicular panel and pull it tight against it's adjoining panel. The central drill bit has a brad-point so it cuts cleanly and doesn't wander on wooden panels. The shank has a 6mm hex profile so it's easy to chuck and stays securely in place without slipping. The larger profile cutters near the shank only have a single cutting surface and don't cut as cleanly as the brad point does - at least in the melamine coated particle board material I was using. It had a tendency to leave some of the surface material from the hole attached and hanging from the side of the hole which looks a little messy. This is maybe the one sub-optimal aspect of this bit, but it didn't tear out so it was easy enough to clean up afterwards. At almost $40, it's not exactly cheap but if you're building more than a few custom cabinets, this may be worth the investment to save you some time and get a nice end result.

Expensive, probably worth it.
A special tool for a special fastener. The screws only work correctly in a properly sized and shaped hole, so you pretty much need this cutter to make them quickly and in one step. Worked great for me in both particleboard and plywood. Expensive, (to me) but it is well made, and looks like it will last a long time.
