This is just what I was looking for. A sturdy but cheap laptop desk that adjusts to the height of my chair. I've been working on the porch and deck during this false-spring heat wave. But, my lap would get hot and I my back and wrists were feeling it. This desk fits perfectly on all my chairs and, and allows me to find the sweet spot for working. And it doesn't have that wobbly feel of really cheaply made items. Adjustment is easy and quick, as shown in one of my pictures. You can adjust both height and the angle of the table. The only con, very minor, is that the drink holder would only work for a 12 oz can with at least a few sips taken. The holder is flimsy and has a small opening.

Very solid build & easy to snap together. I especially like the rounded "L" shaped legs that slide easily on thick carpet yet keep the tray table stable & easy to move. The legs slide quite well under a chair or bed and yet leave a lot of room to move your legs. A lot of adjustments for height and angle if you are going to use it as a laptop or reading stand. The "L" shaped legs will get your work closer to you as well. The recessed lip around the table is nice if you spill something it will not drip down the sides an onto your carpet, chair or bed. The pull out cup holder will give you some extra room for plates etc. and is large enough for a full tumbler with ice although it may bend down slightly. It is a little heavier than the old folding style TV tray but not too much for an older person to handle. I'm buying another one now that I'm satisfied with this product.

FYI. If you want to fit something within the edges of the tabletop the clear interior dimensions are about 19 1/2" x 14 1/2". If you want to slide a chair underneath the table there is about 18" of space between the legs. I haven't used it a lot yet but here's my first impression. When used for such things as laying out a meal, working on a puzzle, reading, writing and other such tasks, the table is stable but not rigid. It does shake a bit but doesn't seem at all in danger of collapsing. The top of the tray is somewhat textured so if you intend to use it to write upon, you'll probably want to place a smooth pad underneath your piece of paper. The cup holder seems very flimsy and likely to break at any moment. The table was fairly easy to assemble and the legs are easily adjustable. Nice. I planned to store it in the box it came in. I took a photo when I first opened it so that I knew exactly how to put it back together. It must be completely disassembled to fit in the box. Even then it was very difficult and when I was all done pieces punctured the sides of the thin product box and poked out. Frustrating. I'll probably store it in the shipping box between some layers of thin foam so that the pieces don't scratch each other. All in all it seems like a good product for its intended use.

These trays are great. Best I have ever owned. It assembles with no tools. It's hight adjustable. Very nice.

Product received was well packaged but seemed used as there were minor scratches on legs and frame, and the table top was pretty dusty with dirt packed against the lip, like it sat outside in a dust storm. No dirt or dust on underside or frame however, only the top. Frame itself is wobbly but as long as you aren't rough with it I'm not seeing any issues. It does come apart a little too easy, but likely not an issue if something is weighing it down like a laptop. Free standing and empty I couldn't move it without something popping out of place. Overall it's decent and I do like the size, not sure worth the price unless you can snag it on sale.

30 years after original purchase and I am delighted to find this TableMate item is still in production and only slightly modified. This is the most flexible little tray table that can slide around and up and down. I've had my original one since my kid was in diapers and he is now 31 years old. It has done every light-duty job a folding table can do over the years. The past 15 years or so it has been my dedicated laptop table for the living room and used daily. Then recently, I fell into ole faithful wrenching it sideways and cracking the top and hook shaped hanger underneath. I glued it and it is now retired to folding clothes only. But I am very happy having this new table easily slide in perfectly over my recliner, at the perfect height and perfect angle. Ahhh yessss, welcome home my new ole faithful.

Works okay. When assembled and in use, the tray rests on top of a swinging support bar which snaps into place. Over time the front tension relaxes and makes it easy for the tray to unhook and fall. Cup holder is useless. Flimsy with zero support from base of drink. Never been able to use.

This unit is the beast of tv table trays. Buy this and you will never buy a different tv table tray again. I do some laptop work on it and use it to have something to eat while watching tv. Its a very sturdy and versatile unit. Highly recommend!!

After owning a knockoff "Table-Mate", which was fragile and wobbly, the item I ordered from Amazon is genuine and made of good material. I would have given it a 5-star rating if the purchase price (including shipping) is not so high.

The table had scratches on the face and the package box was not sealed and it was wrapped by masking tape
