Salvage Secrets: Transforming Reclaimed Materials into Design Concepts

Doesn't give credit to artisans or tell you who made what
Beautiful book with fun ideas. As one of the artisan businesses whose products and designs were highlighted (Eleek, Inc. in Portland OR), I'm disappointed that the book doesn't credit the artisans or instruct readers on who to contact to have similar work done. There is a resource section buried in the back but it doesn't tell you who made what--kind of frustrating if you were hoping for this to be a reference to doing actual work rather than just a "dream book." Still it's a beautiful book and a great first effort from this author. I look forward to seeing what she does next!

Some good salvage design examples for beginners
This book was a quick read with lots of good photo examples (albeit some were used repeatedly) showcasing successful home designs which incorporate salvaged materials. Whereas this book chronicles & devotes an entire chapter to a variety of materials (wood, metal, stone, glass, etc.), plus offers a resource listing in the back, it really is geared towards an absolute beginner at using salvaged materials.

Love how salvage can look so gorgeous and unique
I love how this book shows that salvage can fit into an style....country, glamourous, modern, chic, cottage, etc. It's amazing how being green can give your home something no one else has and makes it that extra special. I love to tell stories about my design and decorating it gives my house so much more than just "and this is my white tile"... now I can say "this is my handmade white tile that I salvaged from a left over winery build". I'm now hooked on the salvage secrets blog...I'm going to give the wood headboard a try. [...]

Fun read - great tips
Great ideas. While not many may be directly applicable - I have started to think about transforming old things into something new - and this sparks new ideas.
