Best solution so far for vacuuming above ground pools with self contained skimmer/filter/pump units. Works well with a fresh filter to remove most bottom algae residue after shocking the pool. Unfortunately, the pool pumps are not strong enough to pick up the larger grains of sand.

Worked perfectly

I purchased an 18 x 48 summer waves Elite metal frame pool and this adapter fits perfectly in the skimmer. It's so easy to set up for vacuuming the pool. Just take to top cover off your skimmer, place the adapter on top the pump suctions and holds the adapter in place. Then prime your hose, connect your hose to the adapter and away we go. Plenty of suction power and I haven't had any issues with the hose or adapter getting cattywampused and sucking in air just by moving about or knocking into it, or pulling it to tight. It stays in place. My first pool was an Intex and it seemed I was always having to tighten and readjust the connections to maintain suction power, so the task of vacuuming the pool took forever and frustrating.
