In my house they are used by kids of all ages. The baby likes to crawl and bang on them. 3 yr old, 5 yr old, and 7 yr old like to set up obstacle courses and play various games with them. They are sturdy enough that teenager and parents can also step on them. They work better with a group of children - they think of more new games. They will stand on them and try to play catch without falling off. Use them as bases playing tag....

I bought these several years ago and sent them to my grandchildren in Germany . I don’t know where the were made but the kids and the neighborhood kids have had a lot of fun with them. They are very sturdy.

Q: What type of plastic is this made from?

It's a hard durable plastic. I don't know what kind.

Q: Would these hold up for continuous outdoor use? Could I leave them out in the yard through weather?

They are extremely heavy duty. But they are made of plastic. And the bottoms are rubber. It would degrade over time due to extreme temperatures and/or sun exposure as a little tykes play gym would. If you want a permanent outdoor fixture you might want to look into an outdoor Rainbow gym system.
