Monty Roberts Dually Headcollar

Have a rescue horse who is too smart for his own good. The trainer recommended a dually halter and it has worked beautifully for him. I don't like to ride with a bit and had bought a beautiful leather sidepull with hopes to ride him in it, but the trainer refreshed my gelding using a dually and recommended we use this halter to ride in vs anything else.It is very sturdy and versatile. Places pressure just on the nose like it needs too when it needs to.Comes with an instructional dvd, but I had watched a mini YouTube video on it prior to purchase and have never opened the DVD.Very much recommend this if you have a horse in need of much ground work prior to riding.It is easily adjusted to go from "halter mode" to "work mode".

Bought this for my mini. I wasn't expecting it to work how it did but it works great. He turns his butt to you consistently. He also is very anxious horse I think someone did a number on him so he needs a gentile approach. With the dully I'm able to lunge him and get him to face me and turn in rather than out. I couldn't do that with the rope halter. I do feel like for most horses just a rope halter will do it but in this case it's been a useful tool. Got a long way to go with this little guy but think this halter is a game changer for him.

Having read “From My Hands to Yours” by Monty Roberts, I was encouraged to see if the Dually Halter would help with training gaps for my 7 year old Arab Gelding. He has been to trainers, but has come home somewhat remedial. He doesn’t trailer load easily, doesn’t understand leg pressure, is somewhat impolite in hand. He is super sweet and very willing. I find the Dually to be a great help. My horse is responding well. I’m very sorry I’m no longer able to play the DVD that came with the halter and don’t see any directions to a site that might play the same instruction video. I can only assume it is similar to the YouTube videos Monty presents on the subject.

Works much better than a chain and my draft horse responds with the slightest of cues. Love this! Will never use anything else again!

Nice halter, but is only good for a smaller draft. Will not fit all drafts, so recommend measuring your horse

This truly works, I have a mare that had no issues, "Show Horse"! For some reason around age 9, she developed and escape routine regarding trailering. With this device we are slowly making progress, I am careful and in transportation she has a brake away halter. But loading this is the safer way, a trainer worked with her 6 months and a considerable amount of money. I am on COUMADIN and can't afford hitting my head.

Very well made schooling halter. You must use it gently and with quick response. It gets the horse to find his own way to release the pressure without a panic. You can see them think it through. My mule gets a bit concerned when I put it on him only because it has a lot of buckles that make noise so I rub his face and snoot to make it fun. He is learning quickly and he can be quite the balker! Do watch all the videos and develop your feel with this tool. It can be a great help with keeping your animal light and willing.

The halter is fine and the video is a rip off because it is the same as in youtube. It should have more instructions and applicability.
