This is excellent.
Out of the box, the case seems to be heavy duty, and well made. The tool feels solid, and heavy. The handle feels comfortable. The blade, is good and sharp, this looks nice. After a day's work. This was useful. This felt solid and heavy in the hand. This is not so long as to get caught up in the branches all the time, and not so short to be to be hard to use. The weight of the blade makes it cut and hit with authority, no bouncing, or wobbling, great feedback, great swing. This is fun to use, I don't have to power it to make it work. The only downside might be the handle. Yes, it did loosen up. But it is an easy fix, I am willing to keep tightening up the Allen screws, it is such a good tool. If it annoys me I will fix it. Oh, about the wood used in the handle, it seems quite solid, and should last for quite a while. This is not a paid review in any way. I like the tool I received.

really useable!
Quaility. the blade is a nice, big enough to work with piece, of unpolished stainless steel, thick! Thick enough for what I look for, that's a BIG plus. Full tang steel completely though a nice gripping hardwood handle. Nice sheath! should wear very well. I have been looking for a quality useable bushcraft tool, this is it, straight spline back, you can hammer though your outdoor wood projects, and it will strike a good spark, who ever designed this knife, YA DONE GOOD ! thank you!

Great blade
Right out of the box sharp as a razor. Gave it my own edge and took it camping. Perfect size for our daughter. She chopped limbs all day and made her own fire with this blade. Highly recommended for beginners.

Sturdy, sharp, basic, everything you need in a tool
Got this delivered today and right out of the box this was sharp and ready to go. The blade is very thick with a good sharp edge and chisel stile point. The blade is full tang with the handle with the wooden handle halves held on with allen head bolts. The handle is a little rough but after using this to trim some brush around the yard I took about 20 min with some 110 and 220 grit sand paper and got them just right. This is a real bargain. I'd buy it again if I needed two.

It was WELL USED on our camping trip.
This amazing blade was used for chopping wood and clearing, such as an axe, mixed with a machete. It is very sturdy and withstood extensive chopping all weekend. We didn't bring an axe or machete either, to REALLY test this thing out. The Japanese Nata tool is an A+ in my book, and the other people's who have used it. When used as a wood chopper, like an axe, it splits dry wood very well. When used for clearing, it wasn't quite as great as a machete, but it was useful for clearing an area where I set up the restroom at camp. When used for cutting less-dry wood, you had to hit it at an angle and come back and hit it at the opposite angle, etc like an axe. BUY THIS ONE AND LOOK NO MORE.

Great blade, handle needs work
Hey so I bought this machete for my birthday, so was very excited. i loved the look of it and the size was great, the price wasn't crazy so that was cool too. I left for the mountains the next day so wanted to try it out. I assumed that i would find out why the price was on the lower side, but still had really high hopes. sometimes i really do get a good deal. I have to say that the blade was well done. Very sharp, and i loved the weight. It wasnt too heavy but just heavy enough to have some good weight behind it. As i used it, the blade held up. no chips or rolling and the full tang kept it solid. so well done on that. BUT the handle is what i have a problem with. After taking off a branch from a log about 3" in diameter, the handle started to come loose. I will admit the handle makes it hard to grip. Normally since i dont have big man hands i can for the most part work with anything, but even i had problems from keeping it rolling due to the handle being so thin rt there on the choke of the grip. LUCKILY i do wood working and i have some epoxy and i can probably figure out how to secure it again or if all else fails make a new handle all together. But not everyone would be in a position to do that or will want to take out the time. But hey i dont forge metal so the hardest part for me is done. over all the rating is generous because i can fix it :/

Solid, heavy, stainless blade
Bought this to use for gardening. It's thick enough to dig and pry weeds with long tap roots out and open up soil to plant started plants. Works good to use like a hoe by driving flat end in soil at an angle to cut weeds below the surface. Handle is a little rough, but long enough to get good leverage or choke up for control.
