I should have read the reviews more carefully.
Wasn't what I was looking for. I need to know what it takes to develop a SF application that goes outside of CRM. This was not very helpful in that respect.

Good concise guide for Salesforce
Great summary of salesforce. The documentation on SF is overwhelming and this makes it quite concise and easily understandable if you were lost like me.

4 stars from me, 5 stars for you
This is a 4 to 5 star item. It is great for the right audience which appears to be the end user. I'm sort of an end user being in Salesforce Administration so I didn't find what I was expecting... but it's still darned good!

Sample is Very Poor
Sample is worthless. It only gets to the point of setting the topic up - you don't see how it handles and step-by-step instructions, tips, etc.. I knwo the sample process just shows X number of pages but Amazon should have a vetting process to make sure the sample is actually useful. Not buying here due to the poor sample.

Seriously falls short of "for Dummies" excellence.
I have a number of the "for Dummies" books and I have always been consistently impressed with their clarity and simplicity. Regardless of the author, they introduce and explain their topics in ways that make learning easy. Not this book. This is little more than the type of User Manuals you get from software companies nowadays. To create an account, click "Create Account". Really? I didn't know that. Thanks. Nowhere is there a conceptual introduction to what this product is, how it is structured, or how to evaluate it for your company. The book lacks a basic primer into the terms, processes, and data structures used by this product. I love "for Dummies" books, but feel I wasted my money on this one.
