Mikasa Professional Whistle with Lanyard

This is a very nice whistle. Very loud and well directed. Comfortable in the mouth, nice lanyard. I'll use it for coaching but not to referee because of the color. I'm glad I waited instead of buying from Japan a while back. Thanks

I am a water polo referee - a sport where there's a lot of whistling. I used various other professional whistles (Fox 40 variants), which are good, but my ears were suffering from the direction of the sound. This whistle projects a lot more sound forward, and is relatively "quiet" toward its user. It has a good sound, can easily be modulated and whistled in rapid succession at almost any level. The only improvement would be a soft mouth/lip guard for those users who need to keep the whistle in for prolonged time.

I like these. Good volume that is well directed. If only would they come up with a softer cover (and if interchangeable!)…Though that will change the geometry and who knows if I’d like it as much then. Still, if they make one, I’ll try it.

My husband really likes this whistle much better than his fox one. It has a more clear louder sound and he is a volleyball ref and its much better than his first one!!!!!

Un ottimo fischietto, il fischio è chiaro e basta pochissimo fiato per fare molto rumore. La pecca è che si consuma troppo durante la stagione, nella zona dei denti. Bisogna mantenerlo molto pulito perché altrimenti smetterà di fischiare.

I genuinely enjoyed using this whistle — it delivers a sharp, distinct sound and reaches a loud volume with very little effort. For game situations, that kind of clarity and projection is exactly what you want, and in terms of performance and style, it absolutely earns 4 stars. However, the durability didn’t meet my expectations for the price. After less than a year of use, the whistle actually crumbled in my mouth in the middle of a game. Thankfully, I had a spare in my pocket, but it was still a disappointing failure. Overall, excellent sound and usability, but minus one star for durability.
