Sperry Men's Authentic Original 2-Eye Leather Boat Shoe, Sahara, 9.5 W

I have owned these Sperry Boat Shoes for about 15 months and only expected to wear them occasionally. But once COVID hit and I was mostly restricted to indoors, these became my go-to shoe. I wear them every day - around the house, for walks with my dog, around the pool - and they never fail to feel and look great. I've put about 5 year's worth of use on them in 15 months and they've performed like a champ. Because I have high arches, I slipped a Dr. Scholl's pad under the leather insole and that's been perfect for me. I've worked in the Quality Engineering profession for over 30 years, and these are a quality shoe. I'm usually frugal (or cheap if you ask my family), but splurged on these and am so glad I did.

The first product that was sent to me was in great shape. If you plan on wearing socks, get what you normally wear for sneakers. When you first get it, it might be a bit tight with socks, but as you wear it, it will tend to get bigger and fit just fine. These are easy to walk in, they look great, and are pretty convenient. I do not advise wearing these if you plan on standing for a long period of time; the back of your feet starts to ache. Do not leave them under direct sunlight or the glue will melt.

The last time I bought these exact shoes, I went on a world tour, taking only this pair of shoes, and no socks. I walked for miles in cities and I was always comfortable. They went on to last for years, with just a damp towel used to clean them inside and out. This is my second pair and I think they feel better. I would prefer less tapering and a wider toe box, but I have quite a toe splay and these are normal shape. They eventually stretch to your toe width.

Fit great right out of the box! Some brands take a lot to break in but my experience with Sperry Boat Shoes is they always fit great and are comfortable.

I purchased these shoes about two months ago and I’ve only worn them about 10 times in total (not a lot). After about six or seven times wearing them the front of the saw started to break apart. I started tripping because the end of the toe catches on surfaces. Sperrys are one of my favorite shoes to wear in the summer and I was looking forward to wearing them into the fall this year but I might have to throw these away. I hope this doesn’t speak to the quality of Sperrys in general, maybe it just speaks to the quality of “Amazons version of Sperrys.” Anyways, I was planning on getting two or three more pairs because of the pricing but I will probably be looking somewhere else.

I like having a shoe that I can just slip and go that look stylish. Theses are basically my sandals for going outside. I've had a few pairs that have outlasted many of my everyday shoes. I don't recommend them for long walking because they're completely flat.

I bought these for my dad as we can't get out to shop during lockdown. Ordered US 9.5 for Australian size 9 and fit was perfect. He is very happy with them.

Perfect sailing shoe, stable light weight, cool, perform just as well when wet.

Marks on it

The leather is a little stiff as new but the fit was good , need to be worked in.
