elago Classic Case Compatible with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil 2nd Generation Classic Design Compatible with Magnetic Charging and Double Tap (Read Installation Instructions-Yellow)

I was about to return this as I couldn’t get it to charge (even though it would magnetically attach to the iPad). Then I read another review telling me about lining the flat side of the pencil with the magnetic side (look for the writing on the side of the case) and now it works perfectly! Using this grip and playing around with some new pencil tips has really improved my note taking on the iPad

I really think elago should do the right thing and remove this product from the market. It is entirely without use. It does actually succeed at part of what I believe its intended purpose is. It does look cool. It does make the Apple Pencil more comfortable to hold and use (although those with smaller hands MAY find it too bulky). However. It is very difficult to put on or remove. VERY difficult. I could live with this if it was a matter of installing it and not taking it off again until it wears out or get damaged. However, once installed, it barely attaches magnetically to the charging point. Again, I could possibly live with this as I don't tend to store my pencil on told of the iPad as it too easily gets unintentionally knocked off and therefore I only put it there to charge. However, it doesn't charge with the case on. So, the only way to use this is to charge your pencil, fight the damn thing on, use until the battery depletes, then fight the damn thing off again to charge. I'm not kidding when I say it's really, really hard to get on and off. It's a complete failure as a product. Avoid.

Amazing value for money, easy to get on and off, feels great and looks the part. The only negative thing I have to say is that the magnetic side of your apple pencil has to be on the opposite side from the hole to double-tap? If you look close, there is a "magnetic" side opposite the elago logo. When put in this way, the magnet is strong enough to hold and charge your pen. If you're struggling to charge, I would suggest turning the pen around in the case!

I don’t pride myself in having much strength, but I had to get my dad to help me put it on. I was too excited at the beginning and put it on in the wrong side, so he had to take it off for me. In this way I do think that’s a good thing as it isn’t going to fall off or anything like that. The product is cute and I love it! It came with a little of dust on it and the box was slightly dented, but I couldn’t care less. I recommend this product!

Whilst this product looks fun (which it is) it doesn’t function as well as it should. Unfortunately it doesn’t charge whilst in the sleeve, meaning every other day I have to remove the sleeve and charge it. When my pencil is in the sleeve the magnetic strength is too weak to charge. On a positive, it has a good quality feel and the exposed section makes it easier to switch between the different drawing settings.

I rarely leave reviews for products, and I always frown upon those that only take to Amazon reviews to write bad ones. But I’m sorry to say this product is pretty much useless. Yes it looks cool. But it’s crazy hard to get on, a struggle to be honest. And then only to discover that it doesn’t allow you to charge your 2nd gen Apple Pencil. Getting this product off of the pencil is a nightmare. It would be great for 1st gen pencils where the charge dock is at the top. But this item is falsely advertised as good for gen 2. It’s not. My advise? Don’t even buy ANY cover for your pencil gen 2. Just leave it as is. To the makers/sellers. Please stop saying it suits the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, it doesn’t.

This is a great looking cover for keeping your Apple Pencil in mint condition and gives good grip when writing or drawing. The white one looks really good with my white folio case, along with the pink pop of colour on the eraser. Double tap works fine and my pencil absolutely does charge with this cover on! I can only assume the people who say it doesn’t haven’t lined up the thinner magnetic side. Love it!

Hi there, I don’t often write reviews but I thought I would address some of the concerns with this product because I think it may help a few people out. When connecting the Apple Pencil 2 to your device, you may have noticed that the side that connects, has the Apple symbol and the word ‘pencil’ written on it. On the ‘elate’ product it is important that you line up the case side, that says magnetic. It’s easy to identify as its on a side that has a cut out. If you look down through the case at the back (otherside from the nib) you will see that the silicon on this side is thinner and creates a strong connection. It’s quite easy to miss and many people myself included don’t realise that the product has a right fit. For me the double tap works fine and the product itself feels pleasant/ premium to the touch and I am confident that it will now survive the odd fall. Remember that silicon by its very nature is somewhat stretchy so i would advise that you take your time squeezing your pencil in and remember you can always ‘shrink’ it but putting the cover in hot water. Anyway I hope this helps a few people out.

It fits fine. It feels fine. It charges fine. It looks fine. Does it make the pencil feel better? Nope. Is it life changing? Nope. Does it still charges when attached to the ipad? Yes, provided you install the magnetic side of the case properly to the pencil. Point to note, the magnetic strength of the pencil attached to your ipad is greatly reduced because of this silicone when compared to a naked pencil. So it might move about in your bag if you commute with it. Is that the end of the world? Not for me. But it might be to you.

The item was delivered on time, and in tact. I am happy with the fit of the case to the apple pencil, even my grip with the pencil is better now. I like the color and design. It fits on my logitech keyboard case, and there is no issues with the charging. I am happy with my purchase.

Also ich finde die Hülle für den Apple Pencil 2 wirklich schön. Das Design hat es mir absolut angetan. Sie sitzt sehr fest und verrutscht beim Schreiben nicht. Die Magnet Funktion klappt immer noch, nur etwas schwächer. Die Ladefunktion funktioniert aber nicht mehr. Dafür muss man den Stift abnehmen, was beim schwierigem anbringen doch etwas Zeit in Anspruch nimmt. Ich würde empfehlen die Hülle für Menschen die viel zeichnen oder Schreiben zu nutzen, da man dadurch weniger abrutscht und den Stift besser halten kann.
