Origin8 BMX/Singlespeed/Fixie Chainrings

Wanted to drop down a few teeth on my singkepped road bike and began my search for a new chainring. Being my crank is 5 hole and 130BCD, my choices were limited. Found this and liked that it was both 130 and 110 BCD. Bolted it on and took my bike for a spin. Works great. Holes matched up perfectly and I didn’t see any flex under heavy load. Cheap investment to make my gearing a little easier on my knees. I’ve bought Origin 8 products before and have never been disappointed. This item is no different.There are many brands out there for 3x the price. Are they any better??? Probably. But at 1/3 the price I doubt I will ever wear this out and if I do, I’ll just buy another and still be ahead.

Built a fix from an old Shogun 400. This is a nice beefy 1/8 chainring. I guess technically this is a sprocket. It looks like it's twice as strong as your average chain ring. Time will tell.

Fast delivery, packaging was good,I purchased the 47 teeth, solid clean works great on my beach cruiser , so I purchased a second one 48 teeth again no problems with delivery, packaging ,and product works great !! looks and rides good on my white cruiser. Thank you for selling a good product.

Great chainring, looks really cool. Construction seems good.The only issue I had with it was that it would not perfect fit onto my crankset. I had to spend a good amount of time filing down my crankset and using the dremel tool on the chainring to make the holes bigger.I didn’t deduct a point for that because it could have been the old crankset.

I converted a 2006 Orbea Onix to single speed using the 40T 3/32 version of this chain ring. It is mounted on a (very old) FSA SLK crank. I used a Shimano 10 speed chain with a Origin 8 chain tensioner. It works very well. I had to shorten the chain by two links and work on dialing out the chain noise but that was more on with the tensioner than this ring.I really like the fact that this ring works with 110 or 130 BCD. That is just brilliant.

The chainring is perfectly round first try. No tight spots in the chain. Use new chainring bolts and install bolts backwards, stung the bolts, then remove bolts one at a time and install bolts right way one at a time. This helps mount the chainring properly round on the crankarm hub.

I bought this chainring to use for converting my mountain bike to singlespeed. It worked very well. Acutally it saved me as I mismeasured and thought that I needed the larger bolt circle. The 'bonus' smaller bolt circle is what I have and so I was able to use it even though I had made a mistake. Make note: always measure twice, order once.I tried a 1/2 chain and it was working fine, then switched to 3/32 and it was fine too.The bolt holes are recesed on one side so the chainring bolts I hd were too short. i turned the chainring over and it worked fine.So a very versitile and good strong chain ring. Thumbs up!

Cheap offerable but if on ebike you need to replace every 3 months. Assuming you actually use your ebike as a daily commuter.
