Nice set for a lock picking adventure
I recently purchased this lock picking kit for my aspiring junior detective, and it's been an unexpected delight! Here's the lowdown on why it's a game-changer:Pros:1. **Educational Fun:** Forget video games – this lock picking kit is like a hands-on puzzle that teaches problem-solving and patience. My little one is mastering the art of unlocking while developing critical thinking skills.2. **Quality Tools:** The kit comes with sturdy, kid-friendly tools that aren't flimsy. It's like introducing them to a mini locksmith workshop (or jnr prison break?), minus the locksmith license!3. **Parental Bonding:** Who knew lock picking could be a bonding experience? It's become a family affair, and I get to share my "wisdom" on the art of unlocking (while secretly learning from my pint-sized prodigy).Cons:1. **Supervision Required:** While it's fantastic for skill development, keep an eye on your little lock picker. It's not a set-it-and-forget-it activity – safety first!2. **Missing "Mission Impossible" Soundtrack:** Okay, maybe that's just a personal wish, but wouldn't it be awesome to have some spy music playing in the background? In summary, if you're looking to foster curiosity, patience, and a touch of spy intrigue in your child, this lock picking kit is a winner. Just don't be surprised if they start offering to unlock your doors – they're mastering the art faster than you think! 🔐🕵️♂️

A fun skill to learn
It was a bit of fun to learn, the locks are a good quality while being clear, it let's you see the individual pins while having a range of picks so you can see how different things fit in the locks and affect pins to find the best way to open it. It helped me open some bits at work to change the locks instead of getting a locksmith out, great value

Simply Superb Set !
The media could not be loaded. I've always shy'd away from these budget sets and stuck with my Southords & Sparrows. I was curious to see if these cheap pick sets were fit-for-purpose. What a wonderful surprise : the profile of the picks & rakes are really effective (some unusual Bogatas in this set are quicker than my Southords at opening challenging locks.) The tension tools are far too thick & wide but this allowed me to file them down to make some very cheap & effective TOK tools ! The practice padlock is brilliant. People miss the point when they review that it is too easy to open. This lock is designed to help you perfect skills such as finding the binding pin and setting them all in the right order. The manual for this set is high quality (but isn't that helpful !) The entire packaging from box to case is excellent. It is true that the picks could be bent if treated roughly but it should be the tension wrench that's applying the necessary torque ! I've had no problem with these picks & rakes bending with use ! Never thought I'd say this but these picks are fast becoming my 'go-to' set.

good to gain an understanding of how locks work - mediocre beyond that
The media could not be loaded. Have been quite intrigued about lock picking for a while and had even managed to pick a brass padlock at home using paper clips but fancied giving it a "proper" go by getting a pick set.Opted for this one due to the 4 training locks and range of picks included, but waited for the promo price of £19.99.If you've no idea how locks work, I'd say this kit (and many similar ones) with transparent locks are great to gain an understanding. That being said, you can easily gain as much insight via online videos. In picking the locks it is helpful to see the pins lift inside, however the locks themselves aren't great quality and feel you don't get great tactile/audible feedback as you pick them so as a learning tool they feel quite limiting - in only about 3 picking sessions I did manage to learn to pick all 4 locks (repeatedly and consistently). Also, despite the locks being transparent, holding the locks and seeing the pins at the same time can be very difficult, so almost negates the benefit of them being transparent to some extent...The range of picks is nice, though I feel the wave rake and the two single hooks are probably the most useful.Although you get 5 turning tools they are all for bottom of the keyway tensioning (as opposed to top of the keyway) so aren't as versatile as "FIVE TENSION TOOLS" would lead you to think. Also 3 of them are the same.Furthermore regarding the tension tools, they're all a bit too large to practically pick the 4 way lock. I did manage it, but purely because the pinning on this lock actually means you only need to pick two sides, not 4, so you can actually block off either of the other rows of pins and it doesn't cause an issue, if the lock were pinned differently though I don't know how you could tension the lock cylinder and not block access to each of the 4 rows of pins with the tension tools included in this kit...I feel getting a less expensive kit without any practise locks and using the money saved to get a few cheap off the shelf padlocks (or even a cutaway lock such as those by the Dangerfield brand) would make for a better learning experience if you truly want to learn and improve at picking rather than just learning to pick 4 easy low quality plastic locks...
