Catfish Special Casting Fishing Rod

I LOVE this pole. I love ugly stik in general but this pole is so comfortable and sturdy. Only caught some little dinks on it thus far but I'm looking forward to next summer for some good catfishing!

I would say the heaviest fish I've pulled in so far with this rod was around 10 lbs. It handled the fish easily, I have no complaints. It pairs well with my 6500 catfish special and orange line. Good looking combo.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I received a fishing rod that arrived damaged because it was shipped in a regular plastic bag instead of a protective container or tube. There was no padding or internal support, and the rod was clearly not secured during transit. As a result, the item has multiple paint chips, scratches, and a bent line guide (please see attached photos). The damage appears to have been caused by inadequate packaging from the manufacturer and by Amazon’s careless delivery handling. The rod is also completely misclassified as “medium-heavy” — it’s so stiff you can’t even slightly bend it. The product photos are misleading and were likely taken using a different rod. Even for a budget rod, this quality is terrible. I did not expect such poor treatment from a well-known company. Truly disappointing.

It's an Ugly Stik. Personally, I love this brand. To me, the handle is awesome. It casts like an absolute beast whether I'm using a bait caster or a spin caster. On the grand scale of things, they're inexpensive for how well they preform.

Was expecting good quality and not disappointed. Sensitive tip and plenty of backbone for larger fish. I have several of the designer rods and find myself grabbing this instead. Topped it with a Abu Garcia 6500C3, Spooled it with 20lb Stren and it’s fast becoming my go to. Biggest catch so far is a 28lb Blue on this rig . Can’t go wrong with a Ugly Stik !

I gotta say Ugly Stick, your rod would have 5 stars if it weren't shipped in just a little plastic bag to protect it, nonetheless MINE wasn't damaged like many others. That being said this rod is excellent. It's durability was immediately tested on my first cast when my inexperience with surf rods showed through and I swung straight through to the guard rail. Lol Not a scratch! 2nd cast went 60 yards right where I wanted it so that wasn't so bad either. Next thing you know I have this 20 lbs blue slugger. I imagine I can cast way further with practice. Ugly Stick; Lemme see a review where you start boxing your poles and I'll change my review to 5 stars. I ordered another one. I love the pole.

Excellent rod with just a slight tip flex. Just perfect action. Would buy again. Probably won't have to since these rods are almost indestructible.

Very strong and durable rod. Nice paint finish too.
