Q: What is the country of origin (manufacture)

The same company makes all of the cavatelli makers with the same casting shape (Cucina Pro, Fante's, Vitantonio, Paderno, King Cole, Bethany Housewares, new Vitantonios, and some others) in Taiwan. They own the patent and make them to order for retailers.

Q: I just purchased this and the brochure doesn't say how to make sea shell? any help would be appreciated.

Amazon isn't at fault. The seller is just repeating the description on the box the product comes in. This cavatelli maker really only makes one shape pasta, although by varying the moisture content of your dough, and the width and thickness of the dough strip you feed into the rollers, you can affect the shape. If your dough is very dry you will get little bricks because it won't curl. Kind of cute, but not cavatelli. It also says it makes gnocchi, but in the included recipe booklet the recipe is titled potato cavatelli. So, the question is: Is potato cavatelli the same as gnocchi? Apparently a lot of people think so (I do not.). I'll leave that decision up to you. Pasta making seems to be as much art as it is science, so plan on experimenting a bit. Don't give up if your first batch doesn't come our as you expect.
