Q: Does the card support peripherals such as mouse and keyboard? i’m considering connecting it to a thunderbolt kvm switch.

This card requires a 13 pin (14-1) Thunderbolt connector, a PCIe 3.0 4 lane expansion slot slot, and the patience of Job to install. BTW, the only Intel processors with native PCIe 4.0 support are generation 11 and up.

Q: How many pcie lanes does this require?

It use PCI-E 3.0 4 Lane. Mainboard must support Thunderbolt header. I think Z590 chipset mainboard need Thunderboltex4 card.

It will pobably have limited functionality if your mother board like mine does not have a an asus proprietary tb4 header, I’ve only used my tb4 the two type c for video output to my g9
