SteelStik is a hand-mixable, steel-reinforced, non-rusting epoxy putty that quickly repairs or rebuilds anything made of metal. After mixing, it forms an industrial-strength polymer compound that can be molded into shapes or used to build up, patch and repair steel components. SteelStik sets in 3-5 minutes and after 60 minutes, can be drilled, tapped, machined, ground, filed and painted. SteelStik cures to a dark grey color, is rated at a tensile strength of 900 PSI and will withstand temperatures up to 300ºF.

Sets FAST, so be ready
I had a hole in the muffler of my 1974 Wheel Horse C-120... not the worst thing in the world, but I had bought some of this SteelStik and thought trying to patch that hole would be a perfect application. I cut off what turned out to be a bit too much, kneaded it per the instructions, and it got warm fast. So I started plugging the hole, then after < 5 minutes after beginning I noticed it becoming harder to manipulate. So I finished up, and between 5-10 minutes that stuff was set. I waited whatever the recommended waiting time is before starting the tractor (an hour maybe?), but lo and behold it sealed the leak and has held in place ever since. I've probably put 4-5 hours on the tractor since, so it's seen all the heat it ever will, and it has held firm without any discoloration even.I generally love JB Weld's products; this is another staple in the work shed.

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE (strength, adhesion, fast-setting) and GOOD SHELF LIFE!
Incredibly strong, especially for a quick-setting putty. My spouse accidently ripped the driver's side mirror off the car with a pole at a prescription pickup window at the pharmacy.I used this putty to quickly reattach the three broken plastic mounts. The fact that this stuff is truly a 5-minute setup epoxy is absolutely amazing. It setup rock-hard in the 5-minutes (in the warm Florida sun) just as the directions stated. It molded very easily, conformed perfectly, and adhered very well to all plastic surfaces. All very good qualities I needed to perform a quick repair. The mirror is still in place after several months, bouncing down our gravel driveway, and many door slams later.Note: The tube I used for the repair was actually the leftover portion of a tube I had purchased/used at least a couple years prior and the putty sitting up on my shelf still worked beautifully even then. GOOD SHELF LIFE!

THIS STUFF HARDENS AS HARD AS STEEL
IF YOU NEED A BROKEN KNOB FIXED, A PART MADE BASICALLY ANYTHING FORMED, GLUED, BOLTED OR GLUED TOGETHER THIS IS THE BEST EPOXY IN THE WORLD. NOT TO BE USED LIKE GLUE ON SMALL SEAMS BUT TO BE USED TO FIX ANYTHING THAT IS BROKEN. NOT TO FILL CRACKS AND NOT FOR SMALL REPAIRS. FOR THAT YOU CAN USE J.B. WELD 2 PART LIQUID EPOXT. THE WHOLE PRODUCT LINE IS THE BEST AROUND.

Was dried out.
I've bought this product before at local retail. When it is fresh, the two components are soft and mix easily. The strength of this epoxy is incredible. But unfortunately, the product I received from this Amazon seller, I'm assuming, was old or a bad batch. The outer coating, being one of the two parts, was dried out and crumbly. It was VERY difficult to mix with the inner core component, which was still flexible. I used a mortar and pestle to mash the mix together, but it took so long to do it, that the mix started to heat up and set before I could apply it to my project. They really should have an expiration date on this item, or a least a date of manufacture.
