I had to get a new Desktop because of the bug Apple put in Safari to get us to upgrade(making it very difficult to get into some websites even the website I manage... a nightmare for a non techy person like me! )And having got this new Desktop, I now know just how slow my old mac had become.While the speed of the system is terrific, and its just a case of getting used to this new system, there is one HUGE drawback for me with the new desktop. It only has USB C ports, none of the older USB plugs fit and I had to get converter plugs to use all my old gear on this new machine.Anyway changing computers for me - is a huge learning curve and setting this one up was a bigger learning curve that the last Mac 5 years ago which I found quite simple. It wasn't all plain sailing and if you are not so young, and not so IT knowledgable - a word of warning you need a thunderbolt cable to get the task accomplished in less than 2 days, which is what the ethernet cable took to transfer the data over.(and yes I though a thunderbolt was a broomstick - but clearly I was not keeping up with the times).Whether its Camera is good or its good for gaming, I really don't know. I don't use these functions.In a years time I might feel differently having forgotten all the angst of setting it up, and finding none of my USB's fitted; and be just enjoying the machine.

I purchased an M1 Mac mini for myself and a pink iMac for a female friend. She uses it only for web surfing and that is about it. After buying a warranty direct from Apple the iMac looks good and does the job being quiet and running cool.I have some 1900+ games on steam and have found only 8 so far that run on the M1 mac. It is a new chip with little to no support. Rosetta works well but seemingly only for applications favoured by YouTube reviewers for some reason. Interestingly Intel iMacs fetch a premium at this time I am saving up like mad to buy one before they get discontinued.To conclude this is a fine iMac but with very, very few applications currently supported. More will come in time but if you like games or have a good existing game library as a long term Mac user it pains me to say, buy a PC.

Have been for many many years with operating systems like MS-DOS, Windows, Linux and so on but this iMac with the not very new M1 chipset is a game changer above the exaggerated Intel crap ones and I'm not talking about useless power waste gaming PC's.Whatever you do on this iMac, it won't let you down and won't spoil your work and time like Windows does.
