Extra Strength Methyl B-12 & Methyl Folate

I've been a Jarrow customer about a decade. This is a superior product! I have the MTHFR gene (confirmed via blood test), which means I cannot absorb B12 as cyanocobalamin (which is synthetic, FYI) nor folic acid. I CAN absorb methylcobalamin and methylfolate. I was getting peripheral neuropathy (I'm not diabetic), so I had my vitamin B12 levels tested via blood, and they were at the lowest end of the normal range. I ordered this item, take one per day, and I've had 50% improvement of symptoms in 1 month. My labs have not been repeated yet due to insurance issues, but this is not a placebo effect. Previously, I was tripping more and stubbing my toes more, to the point I had to take stairs one at a time while looking at the stairs and holding the railing (which didn't allow me to carry much, so lots of time wasted with multiple trips up and down) because I couldn't "feel" the ground through my shoes; yet when I stubbed my toes it hurt like heck. My life has improved so much in 1 month. I will continue to take it until my insurance will pay for follow up labs or, if I'm lucky, I can reverse the neuropathy completely.

My PT recommended this supplement to help with random nerve shocks I was getting in my legs. Not only has it stopped those, it’s stopped my Restless Leg Syndrome as well! It’s a chewable version with a nice lemon flavor/smell that I find pleasant. It dissolves quickly upon chewing and absorbs quickly. I do recommend taking it with at least a little bit of food to avoid an upset stomach. Based on my results and how quickly I got them, I feel like it’s a really high quality vitamin. I will definitely continue to buy and recommend to anyone looking to address a B12 deficiency.

Jarrow’s supplement is easy to chew/melt, not overly chalky or grainy, and the lemon flavor is pleasant—not overwhelming or sour—at least to my liking. I chose this product for the chelated bioavailability, routine cost, and fellow customer feedback stating they did not struggle to consume the supplement. Texture and transportation of supplements are an important factor for my family due to texture aversions with chewable pills. All of our family members have been taking Jarrow’s now for a week and there hasn’t been a complaint! After the first week of adopting this product into my routine, I’m noticing a major uptick in my energy levels and endurance. The sleep I’m able to get is better in quality and the brain fog of my ADHD and peri menopause is remarkably “thinner,” in that I’m better able to make decisions (yes, that’s an actual struggle—a byproduct of energy-sapping anxiety) and harness my attention. As long as the price doesn’t go up and the quality doesn’t change for the worse, I’ll be a regular buyer of this product because clearly it’s helping.

I’ve been taking this for years and to my surprise I just had a high B12 blood test! It was 1431 so Dr told me to stop. I have MTHFR. Since I stopped my neuropathy has improved significantly! Great product but not for everyone.

This has a very pleasant taste. The taste is very important because you have to let it dissolve and absorb in your mouth as much as possible.

Great form to take your B vitamins, easy absorption and good taste
