I love smoked cheese and this is a real keeper.I'd give this to anyone who likes cheese. The smoke is mild enough for all tho enjoy but provides a great flavor for us who love this.

Honestly, I have not tasted the Gouda...but I question anyone who can't even spell the item they are reviewing correctly. Anyway, I had the Red Apple Mild Cheddar, All natural, Kosher, no animal rennet (I'm vegetarian) and it was very, very good. I would definitely try other cheeses by the same company.

I won't buy it again. It's not horrible, but it's rubbery and bland. I got an assortment of 3 different smoked goudas from Red Apple, and they were all very unremarkable.

Disclaimer: I bought this at the local supermarket, not Amazon.I'd like to know if others share my experience.I found this cheese to be one of the better-tasting not only of cheeses in general, but also of the various Goudas of all varieties of 'flavoring', age, etc.However, the aroma...On first slicing open the plastic wrapping, what wafted into my nose was an aroma reminiscent of my dumpster-diving days, a rather-exacting replication of foodstuffs having contributed to a liquidy melange of fetidness acquired over the course of several days at the bottom of the dumpster. I immediately took the portion i'd alloted for my snack to ask my "roommate" her opinion of the aroma, and it was essentially the same.What this did was cause me to inspect the cheese and its packing very carefully, wondering if a store employee had misplaced an item that was unfit for sale.It was only after that that i tasted the cheese, and found IT to be pretty good, actually.4 stars, based on the little data i have yet. But if others experience the same re: the aroma, i'd have rather give 3, for the unpleasantness of THAT particular aroma ( and its occasional brief "reappearance" if later on i'm experiencing a little bit of belching for any reason ).
