Quality
Good quality products, does exactly what it’s bought for. The only issue is that it lacks a handle to transport, but that doesn’t stop it being an excellent piece of kit.

Does the job - works as advertised: good chipper and mulcher.
I bought this item with a certain amount of trepidation, given the mixed reviews from other buyers, and compared with the more positive reviews for the comparable wood-chipper-only variant. However, my wife needed the mulcher for the garden rather than wood chippings.Assembly was OK, but the instructions and images in the accompanying instruction book must either be for an older model or are generic for other similar machines and they weren't very good. Luckily, putting the parts together was pretty intuitive, even though I was a bit nervous that there were some washers and screws left over after it was completed. The oil filler is in a really awkward position, so you will need a funnel and it helps to tilt the machine for ease of filling. None of this is covered in the instructions. The engine started first time, which was great! It's a bit awkward to manoeuvre because if you are of average height, you have to stoop to push or pull the thing along the ground, but it is well balanced so there is little actual weight to bear.As others have remarked, I think the biggest drawback is the limit on the range of angles for the discharge chute, which makes collecting the shredding and mulch incredibly awkward, unless you are using the machine straight onto the garden where you want the mulch. You certainly can't get it into a wheelbarrow (which would be the ideal, as per the wood-chipping model), so I had to discharge onto a groundsheet and then lift the mulch and chippings into the wheelbarrow. A bit of a pain. The best thing is - it really does the job. I've been using it for over 3 hours and it has really gobbled up some hefty branches, twigs and general garden detritus from a huge fallen ash tree that came down in storm Eunice. It is impressive. I have had no blockages, no problems feeding stuff in and it certainly copes well with everything I've stuck in it. My top tips are:You must absolutely wear goggles because there is some "blow-back" from the feed hopper.Do wear gloves as per the safety instructions otherwise it might have your hand off as it eats up the branches and other stuff you might be feeding in.I could not see the point in following the instructions in the assembly booklet that say, "If in the EU/UK fit the 2 M£x60 bolts in the end of the discharge chute" because this must surely create blockages, and it works perfectly well without them. So, all in all, I am very pleased with the machine, but it only gets 4 stars for the clarity of the assembly instructions, oil filler is a pain, manoeuvrability is awkward and the discharge chute is incredibly limited.I hope that helps future buyers - if you need a garden mulcher and wood-chipper, this is for you.

Great addition to my garden
What a great addition to my garden this has been, Did a bit of research and watched the videos which is what drew me to make a purchase, I found the instructions easy to follow and had it running within 30 minutes. Wanted to see if it lived up to its expectations and it did not disappoint.I decided to put it through its paces. I tried a few leafy branches and handled them with ease. Next, I tried some wet material and found the process a little slow for my liking . Decided to ring forest master for advice. I was told to run some water down the intake to help push the material through the drum . Worked a treat pile was gone in no time, Did everything I was expecting it to do. I highly recommend the FM6DD-MUL. There is nothing that I have researched compared to it. Makes a great mulch for compost

Forrest mulcher.
It arrived within 2 days of ordering. It assembled easily but and I am not telling anyone to do this but it won't work at all with safety equipment in place. I removed this and it works quite well. It handles branches very well making an nice even mulch. Softer greener hedge cuttings have to be poked down with a stick . I have a stick with a T bar so it keeps out of the cutters Nb.i don't recommend anyone to do this who is not used to using machinery.

Great job
Fm6dd - 6.5 hp - used it today for mulching loads of wet clippings that had been on the compost heap for a while. It did a great job and turned it all into small bits of mulch. Even better chipping wood; produces very small clippings. clippings need to be poked down with a stick however wood gets sucked in very efficiently. Very powerful machine and very impressed so far. A bit fiddly to put together.

Clogs up and does not 'self feed'
This machine is frustrating and time consumingThe output chute below the cutting drum is TAPERED so the mulched material gets stuck inside it. It gets worse if any of the material is damp. Fresh hedge trimmings with green leaves produce enough moisture to cause this problem. It has been suggested that putting water through the machine will clear it out. It does, but then the chute is wet and the clogging problem is worse. It takes two of us to use it effectively because someone has to continually clear the clogged chute in one way or another. When you can get it out the quality of the shredded material is good but it takes far too much time to be cost effective. In our opinion a poor design.

Well built machine with design problems
The machine is very well built and easy to move around, it also mulches to very small pieces. However, the exit shoot is too close to the ground when positioned to its lowest position and too high to allow free exit of materiel when raised to its highest position. The exit shoot is also very small and clogs easily with anything that is not tinder dry which rather defeats the object of buying this machine to mulch garden waste. Having had the machine for a couple of weeks use, if asked if I would buy again, the answer would be no. If you do buy, have a bucket of water at hand to pour down the shoot to clear the many blockages you will get when shredding anything with a bit of moisture.

It Does not self feed and Mulch damp material as stated that it should
The shredding and mulching is very disappointing . after about 5 minutes it ceases to self feed and you have to keep clearing it . Having purchased the shredder, which proved unsuccessful, with conifer, the company advised that I part exchange it for this mulcher /shredder. It's no better .Living on the Isle of Man, I had to ship myself and the machine back to the U.K.,in order to make the swap. Thus I wasted a considerable amount of time & money. The only good thing is the engine ,which I will probably put to some other use, having managed to separate it from the shredding mechanism.
