It works for small details. However, make sure you have wax with a fairly low melting temperature as these tips do not get very hot.

I'll give it a five star rating when I've had it longer. So far, it works very well when assembling jewelry waxes and attaching casting sprues. There could be a little more variety in the stylus shapes, but most jewelers should be able to easily make whatever extra pieces they need. It heats up pretty quickly and works well on wax at about 215F. I bought it in a pinch and so far it's worked as well as more expensive tools from Rio Grande and such. When it wears out, I'll consider buying another of the same make.
