Camera is BLACK not white like the one in the picture. I'm able to use it, just not at the job it was purchased for.

This is Hikvision's best and last version of their low profile mini dome series. The series is 2mps DS-2CD2525FWD, 3mps DS-2CD2535FWD, and this one being 4mps DS-2CD2545FWD. In contrast with their non-mini dome cameras, these mini dome has a more subtle impact in say the living room and is much less in your face type that their regular dome cameras have. The are easily mistaken to be smoke alarms.I purchased this one to replace my older model. BE WARNED, this is BLACK version even though the photo in the ad shows WHITE. Although I thought I was buying white, I was able to use the shell of my older model so my new black looks white.A problem with this camera is that the clear dome is made of plastic. During nighttime when infrared is glaring, the optics of the plastic are poor and reflect back into the camera lense making for lower quality night images. I removed the plastic dome and do not use it. Up on the ceiling with no dome, it does not collect dust. So this works well with no plastic dome.ALSO BE WARNED THIS IS 4mm focal length and not 2.8mm. The 4mm version has a Field of View just shy of 90 degrees making this camera acceptable on the ceiling in the corner of a room. It is replacing a 2.8mm model which makes things look more far out but better covers the room. The camera is mounted perhaps 1 foot from the corner so having that extra FOV of the 2.8mm is preferred but at expense of having a far out view which is not preferred. So really cant say 4mm is better or worst application than 2.8mm in my corner mounted ceiling application.I have started replacing my infrared cameras with Hikvision's Color Vu. Color Vu is much more superior to infrared and it doesn't attract spider webs, sees in color at night, and does not need supplemental lighting. The bullets are within my price point to do the replacements. There mini dome color vu are in very short supply and the price point does not attract me at this time. The are also larger than these older infra red models.So this older infrared camera is fine with me for the time being and I have bought another to replace my other 2mp older mini dome. But this is near the end for getting these older models.
