Wroks really well for a fuel spout with modifications
Although it did not function exactly how I had thought it would, it turns out to be wonderful! I had thought it was for 5 gallon gas / diesel fuel cans, and it is actually for what I would call a 5 gallon pail. When I received it, none of the adaptors would work (obviously), but I did however have an center open cap I had purchased for something else. I tried it over the cap and it worked like a charm. Of course the metal spout at the end is for insertion into a differential, or valve cover and the like, but a little tugging (well actually a lot) and I was able to straighten it out enough to get it into the fuel spout on the tractor. I keep 3 5 gallon plastic cans on hand for the tractor, and swap this to whichever one I am using at the time. Place it on the hood of the tractor, pull up 4-5 times, and let it run. Watch the gauge and when it shows "full" push the plunger back down. That easy ! My original intention was to not have to hold the can while fueling, and of course to misjudge the amount and "wear" the overflow. This has worked tremendously well for what I needed it to do. Only criticism would be for Advance tool to offer the cap to convert it for a fuel can. Going to go on a limb and see how well it will handle gasoline on another purchase so more to follow I guess.

Overall, great product at a very reasonable price
Just the kind of pump I was looking for!PROS: Lift handle to pump, and it pumps AW32 light hydraulic oil (what I'm using the pump for) with VERY little effort. When filling containers with this pump, it is easy to control how much fluid is dispensed by limiting the upward stroke. Pushing the handle down to its normal position dispenses no fluid. The conical shaped bung adapter threads onto the lift up spout of the hydraulic oil pails that I use. This is great because it minimizes spillage. The pail pumps I have used in the past have a lid that fits over the pail with the original sealed pail lid removed, and any sloshing of the oil in the pail splashes over the rim and makes quite a mess. It was always a problem especially when the pail is full. With the original sealed pail lid still attached, this problem is eliminated. Although the spout connector is not a perfect fit, it threads on well enough to keep fluid from spilling out during sloshing.CONS: 1. Suction tube is not adjustable for different height pails. Usually the suction tube is telescoping so it can be extended before inserting into the pail and it adjusts automatically when inserted and threaded onto the spout. the suction tube is just a little too long for one type of oil pail that I use, and since the spout threads are not a perfect match, it barely secures to the spout. The spout is flexible however, so the pump winds up tilted to accommodate the suction tube length. 2. The metal spout holder on the top has a hole in the bottom that allows residual fluid in the tube to flow onto the top of the pail lid. I would think that this should feed back into the pail. I do understand that this could allow contamination into the pail, but the only time the spout is not inserted to prevent contamination is when dispensing the fluid, so I think that this would be a great design improvement and it is pretty poorly thought out as it is.Despite the two minor design flaws, overall this is a great product at a very reasonable price.

Actually Works With Gasoline
A good pump for working with thin fluids like gasoline. It's able to establish a prime while being vertical and pumps well.

very disappointing.
started to leak after 5 strokes, very disappointing.

Its ok but I would buy one with a lid
The oil leak's on the top of the bucket lead when placing the hose back on the hose tip holder. Overall I feel the product is good but makes a mess on the lid.

Safe and efficient method for transferring hydraulic fluid.
I use this to transfer hydraulic fluid from the 5 gallon containers it comes in to the machines that need it. Since the hydraulic fluid we use costs about $11 per gallon, we don't really like spilling or wasting any. We use 2 different kinds of hydraulic fluid, one the conventional type and the other the type that uses common transmission and hydraulic fluid (JD).These pumps thread into the threaded hole built into the lid of the 5 gallon bucket. No leaks. Pump is very efficient. Pumps almost 1.5 gallons per minute. This is the best way we have found for hydraulic fluid transfer.

Works perfect

Harbor freight is half the price and is threaded.
Cheaply made. No better than the harbour freight version, which is also terrible. There is no connection between the reike spout adapter and the pump. If it's supposed to be a friction fit, it isn't. No threads to glue up the pump. No secure connections. If you baby it enough it will perform the minimum service. Expect trouble and mess. Bring help.
