The Forever Flap Kit makes good on the promise of "upgrade" while producing a cost effective alternative to the clear magnetic lid that was occasionally problematic on my ScoopFree box. Combined with the Forever Rake Kit replacement of the original "rust magnet" from ScoopFree, this combo is truly state of the art. No more stuck rake, the overall operation is smoother and odor is reduced.In short, the install was a 1 minute, no-brainer and the impact was far greater control of the crystal liter, particularly as usage increased, keeping it spread more evenly and less waste in the solids area. This adds to aeration and increased cycle time between crystal changes. No more having to stand the unit fully upright to do a fast scoop & stir maintenance routine. Just lift the purple flap and you have access to the essentials. At crystal changing, remove both flaps, wash along with the tray and reassemble in seconds.An elegant solution to an inelegant problem.

We purchased two of the very first models of the Forever Litter Trays years ago, and have been very happy, especially when we can get Just the Crystals for them. However, when Rick announced the new flap kits, we were skeptical. But, since our new kittens are true poop monsters, and even after modifying the original clear lids as Rick suggested, the rake was still getting stuck daily, we decided to get two pairs of the kits, hope they fit our old trays, and helped with the jamming.The kits installed very easy, and within a few hours we could tell that they were working. No more stuck rake, and we can now go at least a full day before scooping out the kitten poop for their favorite box (we typically don't touch our older cat's box but once or twice a month). Seems like they do help quite a bit with the odor too.So, great job with the flaps - and try to keep the crystals in stock, we'll need 'em :-)

The kit installed OK, and appears to function as advertised. I have only used it for a couple of weeks. I have a Forever tray, and just started using the Flap Kit. I use crystal litter that I get at WalMart. It is good stuff, however the size of the crystals is slightly smaller than what the Scoopfree was designed for, so I use a full 4 pound bag, plus about another pound. The system works well.With just one 7 pound cat I only had to change the litter every two weeks. This was about the limit. We got a second kitten that is now 9 pounds and whose input and output equals that of a small horse. So I now have to change the litter every 7 days. With the old magnetic flap everything worked fine. When I changed to the Flap Kit, I expected it last about the same amount of time, which it does, however I feel there is more odor now than with the old system. I do not feel the lid closes down as far at the old system, therefore allowing more odor. My wife disagrees with me on the odor issue, she things it is less than pre flap kit.The Jury is still out on this system, the odor issue may be just my imagination so I will continue to use the flaps until I can determine if they are OK. I may try the old system again and see if there really is a difference.I have had Scoopfree now since they first were introduced to the market and have never had any trouble with it. I would love to find a good rake kit.

I've had the old Forever Tray for a few years and I was always disappointed how storage compartment lid wouldn't close all the way down, letting more smell escape. Finally a solution to that problem! It also solved the problem of the compartment lid being forced off when it gets full. I used to have to empty the litter every 3weeks with one cat. If I didn't the smell may be too bad, but certainly I'd be risking coming home to a compartment lid knocked off. No more! Definitely recommend these if you own the old Forever Trays.

I'd been getting pretty frustrated with my forever tray because of the flap popping off or having the rake get stuck...Almost to the point of thinking of getting a new litter box system! I installed the Forever Flaps about a month ago and they have worked great! The increased capacity, great odor control and most importantly the fact that they work so well and have completely eliminated the problems I'd been having prior make this an excellent purchase! I'd highly recommend it!

This is one of those product that makes you say "why didn't they do that in the first place?" I know this is an aftermarket fix but its great to know someone out there knows what they're doing with this product. Just make sure your model matches the kit style.If you are still dealing with that magnetic-once-clear flap-thingy, throw it out and get this must-have flap kit already! You won't regret it!

I run a small pet rescue and have 3 Scoopfree litter boxes. I use the Forever Tray (the other FANTASTIC product) and started using the flaps around the time they first came out. On 2 of my clear lids, the magnets kept falling off and the box would jam since the clear lid didn't open. It wasn't fun. When you have 15-20 cats using 3 litterboxes and you're gone 12 hrs and the box jams, you come home to a disaster. The flaps have completely eliminated this issue. The odor control is as good if not better than the clear lids. I can't recommend this product more highly. Forever Litter Trays and Flaps make my life so much easier as well as keeping a LOT of cats happy (they HATE dirty litterboxes and let me know by not using them).
