Accurate process
This book is well written and easy to understand. Being a Qi Gong practitioner for 14 years and finally getting a start on Tai Chi, I find that instructions are good and use a clock for reference direction, as to where most other books give you a diagram of the feet and polar direction. Clock reference is much more accurate, and has given me the ability to focus more on fluidity and my queso static aproach towards cultivation and movement. It would be wise to remember that when born we crawl, we walk, we learn to run. In other words, practice one movement over and over till you get it right, otherwise Qi is eradic, and can lead to anger issues which shows impatience; this is contrary to the foundation and philosphy of the practice. I say this so you do not get discouraged and stop after accumilating abundent energy.Great book for beginners who have been practicing Qi Gong. I recomend Beginning "Qi Gong by Stephen Comee"; and "Instant Health: The Shaolin Workout for Longevity by Shifu Yan Lei", before attempting Tai Chi.Shama Khana, Duosi

Interesting read for super beginners
This is really good read if you have never been exposed to Tai Chi. It does not explain though what type of style the forms come from but I believe they are the ones that were released by the Chinese government. Good to start practicing Tai Chi with as a ultimate beginner or an enthusiast.

Beginning T'ai Chi Review
Printed in China, by an established publishing company, excellent.Just the essential elements, with clear instructions and easy sketches.A DVD showing actual "forms" would have been appreciated, even at an extra cost. The author's efforts inspired me to do a flowchart, which helps greatly.

A wonderful clear and helpful book for learning and improving the T'ai Chi 24 form
I really liked the clear descriptions of the movements in the 24 form and the simple, easy to follow drawings that accompany each movement. This book has helped me along with my T'ai Chi classes to improve and "perfect" (never going to happen!) the 24 form. I recommend this book for anyone from an absolute beginner to a longtime practitioner of T'ai Chi.

Good reference book
I am using this book as a reference to break down the forms. Once a person learns the forms this book is a good reference to refresh your knowledge or to hone your skills. I think it would be hard to learn just from the book. I am using videos from You Tube to supplement the book.

24 forms--not my learning style
This is a very detailed book on 24 forms tai chi., but it is still a book and therefore two dimensional. I found that I cannot wrap my mind around the pictures and need a three dimensional learning tool. For those who can learn from diagrams, this should be a very useful and inexpensive tool.

Exactly what I was looking for. Love it so much that I bought one for my neighbor, as she and I both had just started a T'ai Chi class, and needed something at home to help us remember the moves.
