Threaded part is 10 inches
Fixed up my vise. This part works for all the No3 Record vises as well as the Quick Release No3(SQ3) vises(will no longer be quick release though). From the step at the handle to the end of the screw is 10inches. The cast nut is really nice. The screw is not as nicely finished as the original but I see no issues with it.

These are seriously garbage super fine threads poorly machined I mean bottom of the barrel

I used this to fix a broken vice I’ve held onto for years. Mine came without any instructions or papers of any kind. The threads were already a little rusty and was just loose parts already falling out of a bag. But it works great so 4 stars.

Perfect fit for English Record 3VS
Our Made in England Record vice has served us well for many years, but using a cheater bar for some Miata rear wheel bearings got the better of the acme screw and it developed a high spot, the screw was bent slightly. Much searching and it turns out Irwin owns the Record brand and this no. 3 kit is the exact same as the original Record 3, with 4 inch jaws. Seems the same quality, weighs the same, installs the same. Lets hope its as durable as the original English part. Anyway, very happy.

Not a good vise replacement
This is a really cheap-o setup for a vise. The screw is shorter than the picture, at 10” long, not 14” as shown and stated. The screw is not Acme, but is just a coarse threaded rod and has a hole drilled for the roll pin, which is where it will break if it doesn’t strip the threads first, assuming you can even get the vise open far enough to begin with.

It was the missing part
After finding a returned one for about ten bucks, I decided to build the vise I had thought about for quite some time.I used 1044 steel which is harder than A36 and can take a beating.The good part is, if and when I break it, I can re-weld it.It's a good product for what I needed.
