Canson XL Mix Media Pad 11X14

I love spending weekend evenings experimenting with art at home, switching between markers, sketch pencils and light watercolor washes. This Canson XL 9×12 mixed media pad is perfect for my hobby! 🖌️ The 98lb thick paper handles wet paint nicely without heavy warping, and erasing pencil marks does not tear the surface. Side wire binding lets the pad lay flat easily, great for big drawings. With 60 sheets, I have plenty of space to practice ideas without worrying about wasting expensive fine art paper. It works for gouache and ink too. Great value for hobby artists, solid 5 stars!

I love how it has pages that can easily be torn out, paper is thick and can be used with water colors, paints, permanent markers and it doesn’t bleed through. Doesn’t leave smudges when erasing, but I use the white erasers used for art. Paper does not tear when erasing or pressing down hard (which I do when writing or drawing) I really love the fact permanent markers and paints don’t bleed through at all!! I highly recommend this art book, could be used for journaling if you so wish, I write my poems and thoughts after I decorate it with my artwork. I give it 5/5 stars and two thumbs up! Great for beginner artists I’m not a professional or a beginner I make mistakes all the time and so I erase a lot, the paper is perfect for this because no ripping or tearing at all. Again I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this it’s perfect for all ages which age range would be 3-99+ age range. My “adopted” (my BFF daughter) is two years old and she loves to color and draw with me and she doesn’t get upset when I hand her a page or two out of my little art book because the paper doesn’t rip or bleed through on her and she smiles ear to ear when she colors with me more so when I hand her one of these pages.

This paper is perfect for what I'm doing. Both size and weight.

This is my favorite paper. I have adopted it as my go to sketchbook. I use different media including watercolor, water activated crayons, colored pencils, etc. It has held up for everything so far. The paper that has a lot of water used on it gets kind of wrinkly but that could be fixed by setting something heavy on it i think. I really like the size because it's big enough for anything I want to draw and i can easily split it into 4 or 6 smaller sections for times i don't want to use the whole page. The texture is nice for colored pencils and the paper is a good thickness. The only ink that ive had bleed through is alcohol ink.

I am new to watercoloring.. So it's more my fault that I thought "Mixed Media" included watercoloring. I previously had been using an old Canson "Mixed Media" 9x12in book that held up well to watercoloring...so when I saw this one I mistakenly thought they were the same.. So for any fellow newbies.. the WEIGHT is the key here! I also now see that the old one said "Ideal for wet & dry" where this one doesn't say not good or good. The weight on the wet media appropriate paper was 138lb and this new one is only 98lb.. Live and learn I suppose. The main issue is it's warps more from the water..

I ordered this after seeing someone use it to store ephemera just using the dot tape adhesive to temporarily adhere it to the page. I tried it. It works. Love it when a plan comes together. Good quality mixed media pad - sturdy and great paper. Will be repurchasing again.

The paper is the perfect quality for markers or colored pencils. No bleeding and the size is great.

Perfect for my kids using markers

Fantastic mixed media paper pad with excellent thickness and texture! It handles heavy sketching, watercolor, and ink beautifully without warping or bleeding through.
