Okay, if you're thinking about making your own soaps but feeling intimidated - this is your answer. I used this to make little soaps for a baby shower, and honestly? It was almost too easy. I can see why people sell their soaps online. The goat milk base is incredibly forgiving. It melts smoothly (I just used the microwave in short bursts), takes color beautifully (I used mica powder and it blended perfectly), and sets up quickly without any weird bubbles or separation. The texture is creamy and the finished soaps feel moisturizing, not drying like some commercial bars. Here's what I love: You don't need fancy equipment or chemistry knowledge. Melt it, add your color and scent if you want, pour into molds, wait. That's it. The goat milk gives it a nice luxe feel without you having to mess with lye or complicated formulations. The soaps were a hit at the shower - they looked professional and felt wonderful. There is no steep learning curve; this base is the way to go. So simple.

Made my bf soap with this and he loves it. Mixed in tea tree oil, cedar, lavender and orange citrus oils. Walnut ground powder. Dried flower petals, Blue, green, red dye for a teal color. Gorgeous! So simple to melt and pour. Texture is soft to the touch. Aloe ingredient is awesome. Light easy to hold lots of bubbles. Leaves you feeling clean.

wonderful. zero complaints. even arrived early! true to the item's description. 10 lbs for that price is unbeatable and its high-quality at that. this is my first experience working with soap — added argan oil, vitamin e oil, essential oils, and raw honey into the base and the bars turned out beautifully. honest, nothing else has left my skin feeling so soft. wonderful lather. hand-made soap i have bought before always left me feeling dry or like a residue was left on my skin. this base leaves no such thing. been over 24 hrs since use and i still feel so soft and smooth. i'm sure this will work wonders in winter when my skin's dry. i use a double boiler instead of microwaving and have had no issues yet after 3 batches. unscented it has a very subtle, natural scent. it's a very clean smell and isn't at all overpowering like some people have said. somewhat of a nutty, airy scent in my opinion. very light. bars with fragrance added hold onto the scent very well and they color beautifully when adding pigments. it sets very fast. an inch-thick 4.5 oz bar was ready to de-mold after about two hours. my 3 oz bars set even quicker. each batch is better than the last. overall very pleased. will definitely be ordering again.

**This revision of my review is a positive one. - The last 3-4 10 lb orders have all been clearer than more than half of my previous 100 lb + orders of Primal Elements clear base orders. - Most of the original review is still true, but the clearness has been noticeably better over the last few orders/ over the last few months. - one additional change I'd like to see Primal Elements make - use a heavier weight wrapping of the 10 lb blocks of soap. What is being used is about the same thickness as plastic wrap for food, and through the travels of the Amazon delivery network, the wrapping does rip, exposing my soap base to the elements, cardboard boxes, and dirt - needing cleaned/scraped off.** Overall this is a good soap base at a good price. I've used it in several dozen soaps so far, but I've mostly mixed it with another soap base. I've used Simple Serenity/Life of the Party sold at Michaels stores almost exclusively up until the last year or so when their prices went up something like $20 per ten pound container. Ridiculous!! I bought about 20 lbs of Primal Elements and found it to be softer than the Simple Serenity/Life of the Party brand, so I started mixing the two brands to create my soaps in an attempt to "firm up" the finished soaps a little. The Primal Elements also has a yellow-ish appearance and isn't as clear as I'd like it - see picture. I've been happy with the end results and will likely continue to mix these two brands for the foreseeable future. I will buy again as needed. I would recommend - keeping in mind I find it to be a little softer and not as clear as I'd prefer - but still good quality at a good price.

This made my soap hobby so easy. Just melt, add essential oil and a little lavender, oatmeal or lemon grass and pour into molds. It looks and smells like I worked for hours yet it was so easy!

Lathers lovely. I combine this with other soap bases and it melts and mixes great. I melt with a double boiler. Does not leave my skin dry.
