Each piece is a little larger than a quarter. I'm not sure how many come in a bag. 15 maybe?

Yes, if the seller uses the right picture of the bag. Before Katjes used animal gelatin but the newer bags are having this green round label on there, saying: I love veggie. And: Ohne tierische Gelatine = without animal gelatin. Also it says on the German website of Katjes that they are NOW suitable for vegetarians. How long is the shelf life?

I'm not sure of the exact shelf life, but I usually order several bags at a time and they seem the same a couple months later (storing unopened)
