Not as good as other Paulsen works, but pretty good
This was a very intellcetual story. There was a bit of similarity to Where the Red Fern Grows. To be honest I like Where the Red Fern Grows better. The main character in Fishbone's Song (who doesn't tell us his name) trying to find all of life's questions. The kid does express he loves for the life he has and the extreme want to learn. Learning all this from an old man who raised him and told him stories of his life experiences.

Another wonderful Gary Paulsen book.
All of Paulsen's books are so well written. Get your kids started with Hatchet, his most famous book. Reluctant readers will also love his books.

Fishbones is a literary description of poverty.
I liked the main characters love forFishbones. It could be used to teach empathy...
