It started off so good
I upgraded to a Fitbit charge 5 and was really excited to get it. Well after about a year, the battery drops out, it’s different value than in the app. I plug it in and it tells me I have plenty of battery so I wonder what the issue is. A minute after disconnecting from the charger (I didn’t really need it connected) the screen goes black again. It doesn’t wake up when I move my wrist, or if I press it. It’s stopped recording my sleep, well stopped recording everything really as it turns itself off. Same thing happens, I plug it in to charge and it says it has 41% so why did it go blank? I have restarted the device, completely deleted the device, tried everything and it still doesn’t play ball. I am now returning to my Vido tracker that came from Poundland, it’s older than my Fitbit and still working great. It was £15!!!

Fantastic value as a GOOD first fitness tracker
Yes you can get cheapo fitness watches 30% the price of the Charge 5 (UK), but I tried one of those last year and it was a total waste of time. Display was virtually invisible in daylight, accuracy was poor and functions very limited. The Charge 5 is head and shoulders above them. The display is awesome, the navigation easy to use and intuitive and the supporting phone app very informative and helpful. Of course, it doesn't offer the accuracy and functionality of apple and android super smart watches, but frankly, I am not there yet. (I dont really need functions that I use my phone for on my watch as well). My wife was so impressed with the positive impact the watch had on my fitness regime she got one as well! She loves it just as much as I do.I bought a different strap as I did not get on with the rubber one it came with (I have sensitive skin) but that was no big deal. My wife was super happy with hers. Battery life is amazing. We leave our watches on day and night and only charge once every five days or so... We've had the watches over a month now and have no regrets - though I am told not to expect much more than 18 months 2 years life expectancy. Time will tell and maybe I will update this review as and when it expires! If you're looking for a good entry level fitness watch to help kickstart your health plans then look no further.Pete (UK)

Great tracker, rubbish strap
I love this Fitbit so much. It was a long overdue upgrade from my Alta HR and I didn’t want a smartwatch since I always have my phone with me. I just needed a good tracker and this is exactly that. It’s easy to setup, use and sync and I like the additional ECG feature. Battery life is excellent - I charge once a week at best. Also it’s waterproof and automatically tracks my swims as well as other exercises. Tracking can be set manually too or turned off altogether. The strap however isn’t great. I liked the white however after about 4 weeks daily use, I noticed my skin was irritated and peeling. I switched to a non-branded fabric strap and my skin returned to normal with no scars. Great Fitbit, but beware of the non-breathable strap (hence -1 star)

Absolutely fine.
I was sceptical of upgrading my fitbit charge 3 to the 5 after reading many of the reviews. However, I am very pleased I did.Like many others, I initially had issues with the battery drain. At first, my battery would only last a day. After clicking the reset button on the device,(which doesn't lose any of your data) it's been fine. My fitbit now holds charge for a week-sometimes more.A massive bonus for me is the screen as I can now see it in all weathers and keep track of my workouts much easier. Personally, I find the strap much more comfortable than previous models. The added bonus of the ECG monitor also makes this a great buy.For £109, I think this Fitbit is a great price considering all the features it encompasses- and in my opinion it's a good upgrade from previous models.

5 months until the screen broke and serious battery drain issues!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this on the 6th of Jan 2022. Today’s the 4th of June 22 and it’s already broken. The screen is totally out of action. Flickering like a broken TV set. The LCD has obviously stopped working because you can see flickers of the menus if you tap it still. Didn’t knock it/drop it/damage it in any way. Massively disappointed. Will add photos to the review.Update: the screen has miraculously switched back on but before I could get a video with it broken with the case number in the background so replacement is being refused.Update 2: the battery is now draining in less than a day and I’m told this has nothing to do with my device being faulty and that this is an issue with the product itself and a firmware update is coming which should fix it. So don’t buy this, because apparently the battery is broken on all of them.Update 3 (18thJune): it’s becoming completely unresponsive after the battery dies and I’m having to hard reset every time to get it back on. Still no ETA on the firmware update to get the battery working properly. So still a useless product.Update 4: have returned it, still no update from Fitbit about the fix. And the message that they sent me on Twitter saying that the battery problem is a known issue has been deleted (but I have screenshots of it). This just feels pretty shady from them so I definitely wouldn’t buy another Fitbit again. Which is a shame because I loved my Fitbit Flex 2. But the Charge 5 is definitely a broken product.

Fitbit charge 5 simply fabulous 👌
I have owned most of the Fitbit Charge models...they are reliable and not overly complicated.I decided to buy the Charge 5 for the coloured screen and the aesthetics of the device.I am not disappointed, this model is the best yet, loving the coloured screen which you can change using the app. Tracks well as all the charge models do.If you are looking for a slim not in your face tracker which is easy and reliable you cannot go wrong with the Charge 5

Great Fitbit for the smaller wrist
My family have all used Fitbit trackers for a number of years and decided it was time for my granddaughter to join the club. She loves it the fit and size for an 8 year old girl is great and she love the easy interchangeable straps of which she is already building up a fashion collection. Of the unit itself highly accurate tracker backed by a good app makes Fitbit a good buy. Only doubt for the future is Garmin’s acquisition of Fitbit but we’ll have to see what the future hold.
