Pretty good!
I use this along side my propane forge and while both have singed my hair pretty badly, I’d say if you aren’t looking to be fighting the fire, don’t use something like lump charcoal. I’m more of a coast efficiency man, so I’ll just let it burn me. All and all it’s constructed great and works perfectly. I mounted mine onto an old stool (totally not thinking it through when mounting something that would reach a few thousand degrees on wood) with some steel and screws, works good. This is perfect for smaller projects, but if you lean it on something or lay your metal on top of a massive mound of coal you could get bigger ones to work, just make sure to bring a shield, the air out put throws sparks up if you’re using lump coal. Seriously, if you don’t wanna get your hair burnt, holes seared into your pants no matter how many you have on, or have a make-out session with flying sparks, use some cleaner coal like coke. It’s more money, and I’d rather suck face with something burning my lips than spend an extra 20-30 dollars, but if that’s something you don’t wanna do you can get better coal.

Worked okay...
It's a small and functional crank forge, not super expensive but not exactly high quality. Had the crank in mine lock up permanently after a few months of infrequent use, but while it worked it was a fun little forge.

AMAZING
I purchased this forge for my home shop. I honestly didn't expect very much because frankly it wasn't expensive and I think it may also be made in China. So, my expectations weren't very high. I just needed something for some small blacksmith type projects. Well boy was I fooled. This is an old style hand crank forge. It isn't very large at all but when you get this little powerhouse going, you'll have heat for days! It works amazingly well. I just wish the forge bowl was bigger but aside from that, for a small home forge, you won't go wrong buying this little monster. I was very pleasantly surprised and I'm sure you will be also.

Sold Broken Product
Bowl was sent with a "fixed" crack/hole that came undone. I was really looking forward to using this during my winter break, I got everything bought and setup and went to do my first test fire to see how it worked. After 5 minutes burn time the fire started coming out from the side of the bowl so I stopped. Turns out the bowl had a hole in it from the start and the seller "fixed" it before selling it. I wish I took pictures of the fire coming out of it but once I saw it I stopped everything and let it cool down to avoid any other issues or risk. It's a huge hole and you can see that it was patched. Refuse to run it again incase it splits the bowl and causes a major safety risk of hot metal everywhere. Huge let down since I've been waiting so long to use it. For fuel I had put some balled up newspaper and Kiln-Dried Common Board scraps to get it going, and get a feel for the blower. After this test run I was going to use some charcoal mixed in with it but never got a chance. It had a few other flaws that weren't as big of an issue but ill say them now as a heads up. The feet didnt sit right so the bowl was slanted, the metal plate connecting the blower to the bowl was bent, and the ash door handle rubs against the feet making it so I couldn't fully close the door and air would flow through it.

Sad
Product is fine but I bought it as a gift to a young man for his 16th birthday... unfortunately (first time ever) Amazon delivered it in the original package...as soon as he answered the phone he was all thanks and all...I was disappointed to say the least

Super pleased!
This little forge took me about 30 minutes to put together. I can tell you that the pre drilled holes for the legs don’t line up exactly which makes it not truly level but it is certainly good enough and doesn’t fall over. The pipe to blow air through only had one pre drilled hole and looked like it was supposed to have two. Again, it still stays securely on with just one. I filled the kettle with kindling and coal and Kit the fire. The blower glides really well and is effortless. In like using this by far more than an electric blower. I had this set on top of another full size forge and this blower worked just as well as the electric. I was with a group and everyone admitted it. I covered the hot coals with fresh coal to the top, ran the blower to stoke it and then left for lunch. Over an hour later it was still hot and held the heat well. I plan to take this with me when RV’ing to use outside and at home for all sorts of projects. Thanks Therese W

Good little unit. Nice to work w/ for pendents, a little small but manageable for rrspike knives./.
We've always used a propane forge, charcoal is more challenging.
