ASPECTEK 20W Heavy Duty Bug Zapper, Electric Fly & Mosquito Killer

I bought the ASPECTEK 20 W Electric Bug Zapper to deal with flies and moths in the house, and honestly, I’m impressed. It’s been running for a couple of weeks now, and here’s what I’ve found. Build & Setup It feels well-made—metal housing with a protective cage so you don’t accidentally touch the grid. I had it unpacked, plugged in, and working in under two minutes. You can either hang it up or just place it on a countertop. Performance Within minutes of switching it on, I noticed it catching bugs. The zap sound is pretty quiet, just a little pop when something gets hit, which I actually find satisfying. I’ve used it mainly in the kitchen and living room, and it’s made a noticeable difference—far fewer flies buzzing around. Cleaning & Maintenance The tray at the bottom slides out easily, so emptying it is quick. I give it a rinse every few days, and that’s it. I like that it comes with two spare bulbs, so I won’t need to worry about replacements for a while.

Don't waste your time and money, the product worked fine for two days, then a loud pop and it went dead, changed the fuse and still nothing. Returning the item now for refund as unable to contact supplier. It's a pity, because when it was working for those two days it was quite effective ... if anyone is still considering buying one then also be aware that the cable is very short, it's only 1.3 meters long, plus because it comes out of the back of the unit it will not sit flat against the wall if wall mounted.

As described, speedy delivery and great comms. Very sturdy for size, bonus is spare bulbs as not always easy to source. Do the job effectively would certainly recommend.

The unit stopped working within one hour of being switched on. The fuse in the plug was still working (checked in another appliance) and the wall socket was still working (checked with another appliance). The bulbs were obviously brand new so it was possible but unlikely that both had blown in the first few minutes. No flies were harmed in the course of this experience.

Best product for those pesky flies.

Does what it says reasonably well for the price. Setup is simple with only the transport packaging to remove, plug in and zap away. Build quality seems good overall. Bought with the extra tubes for longevity in mind and so far has zapped many flies and moths. One minor issue so far is the tray. Not all debris land on it as some lands well outside so I’ve got mine placed on a hard mat. Do bare n mind the brightness of the uv tubes at night, in particular living areas. And finally, when it zaps it does give of a loud pleasing crack.

I bought the same make a few years ago and both the bulbs went. I did not realise the bulbs decrease in efficiency. In fact the old one wasn't blasting the flies. This one is super efficient and blasts the flies to pieces. It is a bit loud and can disturb animals. My dogs are used to it now and do not react. It is worth it as there are no flies in my kitchen and if one comes in it blasts it. So yes I would recommend it!

Worked well for 3months then gave a pop and nothing. Changed bulbs carefully. Put no sign of life . Had to order another make . Short turn ok but if you want something to last more than a few months look for something else. Expensive for what it is .
