They connect and stay together, although the singles more easily topple in tall stacks than if they are combined with longer blocks. They are normal mega blocks, just with alphabet stickers.

Do the stickers stay on well or are they easily picked off?

The sticky part works well, although the sticker doesn't stay together if a determined toddler is trying to remove them.

Do you double side the stickers on the blocks?

This is up to you. There are more stickers than blocks in the set, but you can either put on more than one sticker or put the extra stickers on other blocks you might have.
