This comes with no directions and I almost gave up on it. First, it fits Dewalt random orbital sander perfectly (which was not a surprise). I use the Cen-Tec Systems 94698 Quick Click system with a 10 ft. hose to connect my tools to a shop vac. I originally assumed that one of the connectors that came with this system would fit this adapter. They did not. However, if you remove whatever adaptor you have on the hose, this item twists right onto the hose (basically screws on) and forms a very strong and secure connection. So if you have a 1 - 1/4" hose (see pic), this adaptor should work for you.

The new style dewalt vacume tools lock into this adapter too. Worked perfect for my dewalt sander. It did tend to slowly unscrew off the hose but no big deal and the hose is reverse threaded for referance.

It works with my sander DCW210. This adapter doesn't have the teeth inside like the original dust collector, so the adpter can spin after locking. Regarding the hose, it was a trouble for me. I order two sets of hoses, both marked as 1 1/4 inch. However, non of them fits. The seller's reply was not helpful either. Thanks to a reviewer Gk, I was able follow the footstep to find Ridgid auto detailing hose kit. That hose is also marked as 1 1/4 inch diameter. I also found Milwaukee hose 49-90-2014 fits well. For anyone who needs to fit the hose, the hose ID size is 1 1/4 inch. The hose OD is about 1.69inch. See my photos attached.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works!!! If you've spent any time at all in the world of dust collection, you know the chances of finding a fitting that is compatible with ANYTHING on the planet is practically nil. I recently purchased a dewalt dcw620 router that had their " Airlock" dust fitting WITHOUT the female fitting included. Having no idea what "Airlock" even was I went on the dreaded dust fitting search. After waaay too much time I found the dw9000. IT FITS!!! Then the next hurdle; will it screw on to my 1-1/4" cen-tec hose? IT FITS!!! I feel like I'm in the freaking Twilight Zone. In the dust collection universe that is like coming out of a black hole and landing on your feet. Recommended without reservation.

Exactly what I needed. Perfect fit for my Dewalt DWE6423 orbital. If you have the Ridgid auto detailing hose kit, it will screw right on as well, no other adapters needed. Just remember it's reverse threads so lefty tighty righty loosey. Once it's locked in place, it also free spins to avoid binding of the hose.

I am completely confused by this thing. what pipe is this supposed to fit onto to? ZERO of my shop vacs fit this thing. i even bought a complete adapter set for shop vacs containing every size of shop vac ever, hoping that would solve the problem.. none of those fit it either. currently i'm using tape to bond this thing to my shop vac. ridiculous, takes a long time, and doesn't really work that well. what the heck is this thing?

Very nicely made piece required to attach a vacuum hose. There’s a catch of course and that’s that you need another piece for vacuum attachment. If this same company makes one I’ll buy it in a second due to the great build of this piece. No burrs or sloppy edges and very solid. I’d purchase again because it’s made so nice and at half the price of the name brand of the tools unit.

Worked great! I was skeptical, but it truly made a difference. I was removing popcorn ceiling and this made the ceiling prep so much easier and time saving. Good price as well.
