I understand that this is a 3 quart scoop but how much does it really hold without feed falling out everywhere?

It holds a fair amount (very nearly full) without spilling if you tip it back a little I actually use it for grain and I have another I use to scoop ashes out of my woodstove. Have used this type of scoop for more than 40 years...
