Nice but not for cold people
I really like the color, the shape, even when it fits a little tight, but for me is not enough warm, I'm ok on 45/50 degrees, but not less. I'm a cold person, but this acts more like a nice thick sweter than a down jacket. But again, i'm usually cold when more people is not. For southern CA is OK on most days, but in Tahoo I was frezzen.

too perfect
I have been looking just about everywhere for a while for a good down jacket and I found this. I go camping and rock climbing outdoors and needed something that could keep me warm but wouldn't be a hassle to bring. This is perfect! It comes with a stuff sack and if you use it... it compresses to the size of a football! The sizing itself on me was decent. I usually get a small and I got a little worried coz I read it could run a little big. It's a little loose on me, but that's perfect for me coz I need to movement without worrying Im going to rip the jacket. Also, it gives enough room to layer a little underneath.I haven't used this jacket in the elements yet, but the second I put it on, I felt uberly warm. And coming inside, out of the wind and the rain, it felt great..I ordered the Plum shade and wow, I love it. The pictures they have on the model don't really show how nice the color really looks, look at the last picture of just the jacket and its pretty close. It's beautifully dark but still a little bold... perfect balance. Not sure if the description mentioned this, but this jacket has two 'outside' zippered pockets, nice and warm. On the inside of the jacket, the 'outside' zippered pockets are sewn in so I suppose you could keep stuff there too. But theres also an actual mini pocket inside the jacket, also zippered.. I think it's for an mp3 player coz theres a stitched hole in it (for headphones?). The waist has a drawstring so you could keep the cold out. Also, this worried me a little when I was thinking about buying this: I noticed the sleeves are sewn tight to keep the cold going up your arm, but in my experience, those could be too tight around the wrists and can get irritating. This doesnt look like a problem with this jacket, it's not too tight around the wrists at all, so no irritating wrap of the wrist and no chaffing. It doesnt say if its waterproof though, which Im curious about since I snowboard as well.. but wearing a shell over it is definitely an option since this jacket is slim and not too puffy like other down jackets.I most definitely recommend! and for the price, it's a steal!

Too boxy. Try the style called Filament
I tried two different sizes and neither were very form fitting. They were almost boxy. I returned and got the Filament style jacket (also by Outdoor Research) and it fits much better.

Best jacket ever?!
I cannot believe how much I LOVE this jacket. It's light but surprisingly warm - when I ended up in colder weather than I expected on a recent trip, along with gloves and a scarf it did the trick. I bought it as a layering piece for a fall trip to Europe, and it was great for that - when it wasn't raining, I often wore it by itself. It's not at all bulky. The color is fantastic and the magenta accents add a little style. Excellent pockets, and the soft lining for the collar adds comfort. I find myself wearing it inside on cold days, for a little extra warmth, and it's so comfortable that it's perfect for that, as well. This is probably my favorite jacket ever - basically an ongoing source of pleasure. That may sound a little extreme (ok, it may be) but it captures my enthusiasm!

Not puffy when there’s no down.
Cute jacket but when it says 650 fill, I expect there to be SOME down within the layers of the coat. Instead of it being a puffy, it’s a flatty.

Good, warm jacket
Though I've never been a fan of insulated jackets, I decided to try one as this winter has been particularly cold, and I also get cold easily in general. It turned out to be just what I was looking for: a jacket so warm and comfortable that I often put it on in the morning and don't take it off until bedtime. One thing I don't like about puffy jackets is how bulky they are, but this one was surprisingly lightweight, and even came with a little bag in the pocket that I assume the jacket can fit into during travel? It's been about a month since I had this and I notice the feathers coming out of some of the seams, but the people I talk to seem to think this is normal, so I don't mind it.

Perfect for car or backpack!
I love this jacket. It comes with a stuff sac but you can also turn it inside out and stuff it in its own pocket and make a pillow out of it. Works great in car or on a plane. It packs down pretty small and I just throw it in my backpack and take it everywhere I go. Very handy and an excellent price. It said it was 109. But when I went to pay it was only 89. I got the apple green and I love this coat. I was very warm in 38 degree weather and it kept the wind out. Great coat! I think everyone should have one of these. Also they are in style.

WARNING!! Feathers show through yellow. 😖
Love the yellow color but the fabric is too sheer and you can see the feathers through. Looks very dirty.
