Yes, these ARE the filter. Yes, they screw onto the North half-face respirator.

How often should i change my cartridges?

Per the included instructions: change after 40hrs of use or 30days, whichever comes first or whenever the filter is clogged or becomes damaged

what is the filter material made of?

After speaking with Honeywell, the manufacture, the filter is made of a polypropylene type of material.

What is the diameter of this filter. I need a replacement filter for a Triton powered respirator which has a tight tolerance on allowed diameter.

The inner diameter (where the filter screws on to the mask) is 1 inch, the largest diameter of the cartridge is 2 11/16. Made in USA!
