Great cameras for the price.
Love these cameras. They were easy to set up. We did watch videos from others before installing. These had great reviews so we decided to give them a try. Installation was easy. Set up was easy also. Like being able to veiw from my phone. Really like the voice feature and that they are solar powered. We are happy with them. We would feel confident in suggesting Blink cameras to others.

Great for RV owners
I lived in an rv and used it mounted above the door. When I moved the rv I could easily take the camera down and put it back up. Very easy to use and picture was clear.

Not working well, or sometimes at all, for me
The solar powered camera is a great idea - and why I bought this camera and solar panel combination. I got it to replace a camera I have had for quite a while. The old camera was under a tree canopy so I had to locate the new solar camera where it can collect the suns rays. The mounting bracket is fairly large and it took me awhile to create a suitable place to mount it with screws as are provided - all I had were metal posts in the desired spot.On set up I found this camera very difficult to plug into the solar portion - seems weird but the cord is short so you can't see and the plug is difficult to line up properly with the port to be able to advance it. Then I had trouble getting the camera to work reliably. It is a little further from my house and WIFI source d/t being in a new location but I have an interior camera 15 feet or more farther away in a shed which works reliably and very well. I have contacted tech support but I email earlier in the day and they email at night (when it is dark and I don't go where this cameral is in the dark - it's up a steep hill). So 1 message a day, unless I miss that I have gotten an email for a day or two so this has been drawn out. They have me trying various things and I'll let you know how it turns out. This new camera does not seem to connect to the WIFI very well, often I cannot connect to access the settings, randomly it stops working and just when I think it's never going to work again, I'll get a few more events from it, and this is true even when I have brought it inside my house to troubleshoot. It just does not seem to have the sensitivity of all my other cameras. IDK - still trying but since it took me a few weeks to set up I am outside the 30 days, right now I cannot recommend this camera.Update from a few days ago - still back and forth with tech support - try this, try that (granted them access, uninstall & reinstall making sure the red light is on, take the batteries out for 30 sec, move sync module to withing 5 ft. of WIFI device - it always had/has been, lengthen the time the clip records, on and on) - I did all that and it still is not working correctly; and they are not really helping me. I even put my old camera back up there - about 5 ft. away with another camera being 15 plus feet away that works & I put batteries in the old camera and it is picking up cars driving by and people walking buy but the New Camera does NOT. I have taken away another star - the thing does not pick up anything more than 3 feet away and they don't care. I'm seemingly stuck with this lemon, and I plan to never buy BLINK devices again.

*Updated* Solar panel weak and useless
*updated Aug 9, 2024: Cooper reached out to help troubleshoot my camera and after a handful of things we've seemingly got the solar panel working. I can see it connected to external power now. There are a few steps that should be more prominent in the set up of this product. As a long time Blink user I didn't bother to fully read the instruction manual, that's on me, but there is a battery tab in the back of the solar housing that must be removed. There are pictures of this in the instructions. (One would also think that would be the first thing the person at the help desk would ask but both times I called neither person brought this to my attention.) The second is that you need to fully remove the waterproof seal on the back of the camera itself so the solar cable can connect securely. So much frustration for a small fix. However, I'm glad it was a small fix after all and I am grateful that someone with more knowledge reached out and was able to help. Thank you Cooper! (Also FYI Cooper said it can take up to a week for the solar panel to fully charge.)--------------------------------I bought this to put in a very sunny area that gets a decent anount of traffic so I wouldn't have to climb on a ladder and replace the batteries all the time. A few months after installation I suddenly got a notification that the camera was offline. I couldn't figure out the issue so I changed the batteries. It didn't give the usual low battery warning before going completely offline. This didn't seem right so I called for assistance and the tech informed me the camera functions off the batteries and then the solar panel is only for backup when the regular batteries go out. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me as I thought the intention was to use the solar battery first and the regular batteries as back up. So again, I replaced the regular batteries and shortly after they died again. No low battery warning, just "camera offline" and while we were out of town no less. I didn't like that we could check the cameras while away.Ultimately I've decided the solar panel must not work. I called again and received lack luster tech assistance so I gave up. They could see it was getting power with regular batteries and that was all. It still works like a regular Blink camera and I have to change the batteries frequently. After a little more research there is apparently a known issue with the solar panels being defective but it's not easy to get it replaced. The concept is good but the solar panel piece of the product may or may not be defective.

Buy only for places with direct sunlight most of the day
It was easy to install, and connect it to the app, but 2 main problems with this device: first, it doesn't charge the battery unless it has direct sunlight on solar panel, which also takes time. Secondly, the other backup battery dies within a week so it is not very useful. I found this camera purchase to be a waste.UPDATE as of 4/17/25 - I've upgraded to 3 star because Blink customer service contacted me and offered to send a replacement device, which I received today. They also recommended I add a WiFi signal booster (which I ordered as well). Will update on the performance of this camera after I let it run for a week or two.

Great Cameras
These cameras are very handy and inexpensive if you catch them on sale. The Gen 4s are even better.
