Too good to be true
This pen is everything I have ever needed in an ink writing instrument. I have been using them exclusively for 5 years. Stop reading and start buying. Ok, you need more info or convincing? Continue. PROS Design - Its a click pen. Press down on the top half to expose the ball point. Less parts means less parts that can fail or go missing. The pen is lightly textured. The pen is easy to hold but it doesn't excessively wear your clothing. The clip is durable and effective. I haven't had a clip fail yet. Ink cartridges are replaceable. You can also get it in shiny gold if the mood, desire, or uniform requirements deem it necessary. Writing - Obviously a big feature of the pen is it can write in the rain. Which it certainly can and will if on the correct paper. It will also write upside down or if you find yourself in zero-g and need to take notes. The pen writes very smooth. CON Thy neighbors will covet thy pen. After you buy this pen, keep your peepers on it. People WILL try to walk away with it. SUMMARY If you have a job or hobby where you use a pen often throughout the day, this pen is worth the purchase. Yes they are more expensive than a classic Bic pen, but the quality is absolutely fantastic. At the time of this review, the pen is $15.70 and PRIME eligible.

Nice Pen, but not really necessary
The pen is very nice. I love that there is nothing on it - no symbols, logos, words, etc. The all-brass construction gives it a nice weight. My only complaint is a very slight amount of wobble between the top and bottom sections. I tried comparing it to a regular ballpoint pen, using Rite In The Rain paper, underwater. Both pens worked surprisingly well underwater - the real magic is in the paper! Both pens were more faint and skipped more underwater, but both the regular pen and Rite In The Rain pen were perfectly legible writing completely submerged. The regular pen was a little smoother overall. If you really are just writing in the rain, use a regular pen without worry. If you need a pressurized pen because you're going to be in an environment where it is necessary (high altitude, need to write upside-down, etc) then these work great. These pens and inserts are made by Fisher and the only difference between these and the Space Pen are supposedly proprietary ink formulation. But, since I didn't notice any performance difference between the Rite In The Rain version and a standard ballpoint pen, I doubt it will make any difference - get the Space Pen if it's cheaper. Overall I really like the pen and the pressurized insert is great at what it does, but a standard ballpoint pen is still smoother and writes darker in "standard" conditions.

Durable
I have used this pen in a professional kitchen for over 3 years and it has put up with a lot of abuse. The pen has stood up to daily use, used to open boxes (without ink cartridge exposed), write on any writable surface, used to pry things open etc. It is a solid pen!! The only paint that wore off the pen was on the clip, even that was only on the forward edge. Writing capabilities are pretty right on, I have noticed that sometimes the pen will stop writing, idk if it's old refills or what, it will right again, but usually needs replacement soon. I'm buying another for myself today and I have bought over a dozen of these pens for my cooks and coworkers.

Cool, reliable pen with an addictive click
I love this orange pen. I'm a huge fan of the Fighting Illini and Chicago Bears. I see orange things and want them. Unfortunately, my wife just doesn't understand. When it comes to orange, this pen fits the bill. It arrived in pristine condition and, after several months of wear, remains near-perfect. (It may have a tiny divot in the coating where my cat chomped down... he, too, likes orange things.)(My wife just doesn't understand.) Beyond color, I like the pen's size: not too small; not too large. Stows away easily, with a sturdy clip. So, its a good every-day carry (EDC). First-responders and medical folks should appreciate this model, which is a rebranded Fisher Cap-O-Matic. Rite in the Rain merely added the good looks: safety orange paint under a smooth but grippy-enough glossy finish. I switched out the stock refill for a Fisher Space Pen PR1F (blue, fine point), which is my favorite of the Fisher refills -- I usually have one or two lying around. It's not the smoothest refill but, in my world, reliability is King. And this pen writes whenever and wherever you need it, regardless of weather extremes. Rite in the Rain refills are equally good (if not better), but the pen shipped with a medium point, and I prefer my points fine. Important: The click is very satisfying. I often carry this pen for the Fidget Factor alone. And of course, it looks great... and orange.

Great pen, a little pricey though
This pen is amazing. Writes at any angle and writes smooth. Its a heavy duty pen. The price is a little high for a utility pen.

write as rain, right as rain
I reached a point where I had two needs - a pen that works basically everywhere, and something that wasn't black so I could find it in my bag. This pen hit all the marks. First, in hand, it fits. Right size, right feel, not a too tiny EDC little pen, and not a bulky "make a presence" pen. Simple click top, and writing is, well, at your fingertips. And to address my "why does EVERYTHING have to be black inside my black bag" issue - this orange is easy to find, but also easy on the eyes - a rich color, not neon, that looks good when using and is, indeed, easy to find in a bag full of otherwise black things. Love the pen - and a follow on, I did buy the Rite in the Rain paper tablet, and yes, I can definitely write in the rain. The pen and paper were perfect while I jotted notes without a raincoat or umbrella. Solid, buy it.

Rite in the rain pen
Bought this along with a couple of rite in the rain notepads for use in disaster relief deployments where conditions are less than ideal. Pen fits well in the hand and writes smoothly. Does not smear or clot up when writing. A bit pricey, but overall a good product. Is not a heavy pen to use or carry.

Great little pen with very few flaws
I use this whilst working in a warehouse and its not let me down yet. Writes on paper, card, stickers and my hand when covered in muck and grime with no problem. Not tried it in the rain yet (warehouse doesn't leak) but it does all that it claims to so far. If I were to nit pick the clip on it is REALLY tight which does make it secure but a pain to clip on and off sometimes. There are occasions where I've had to scrawl for a second or two to get the ink flowing but it's literally a second or two then it works fine. Writes at 90° vertical with no issues, metal casing is nice and strong (been dropped a few times and doesn't show it) and generally looks sexy and functional. The only other thing I'm not crazy about is that it can be pretty easy to unscrew the two halves. Never had it totally unscrew but a quarter turn every now and then makes me slightly twitchy. That's literally all I can criticise it on. Great little pen that I swear by to the point where I've just ordered myself a spare and my father and brother will be getting one for Xmas (along with the RiR pads which are also Lucille-level AWESOME) Nothing is indestructible or infallible but for the money this is as close as you can reasonably expect.

Makes a good combination.
The pressurised cylinder makes it a great writer. And the colour goes with my Write in the rain notebook.

Great pen, bought a few
My last pen got lost after 4 years of constant use at work. Writes under water, writes at minus 40, plus 40 whatever, wherever. Clicker wore a bit, but it wrote every time.
