Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Sony WF-1000XM4 Case Cover (2021) - Matte Black

The media could not be loaded. There aren’t many cases for the WF-1000XM4, and most of them are generic silicone or clear cases. The Spigen Rugged Armor case is by far the best one I’ve tried and actually feels like it’d protect the earbuds if it were to take a fall. A combination of premium feel, protection and the useful carabiner makes this an easy recommendation.The included adhesion allows the rugged armor case to stick to the WF-1000XM4 and there are no issues opening or closing the case. Some of the other cheaper cases tend to overlap the top and bottom portions and when you close it’ll actually interfere with each other. Nothing of the sort happens here and the case fits perfectly and snug.The included carabiner is also very nice and feels much more premium than the cheaper ones you’ll get with the other generic cases.Wireless charging works as expected, but this may entirely depend on the shape of your wireless charger (mine is flat). Picture is attached to show it charging without any issue.Overall, the Rugged Armor feels premium, solid and overall very sturdy and is 5/5 for me. While slightly pricier as well as a bit bulkier and heavier, it is well worth it for the quality and peace of mind you get.

The Sony XM4s arent a widespread product and 90% of the cases on the market are rebrands of the same silicon skins, and wear out or rip.The Spigen case cover aligns well with the Sony case, and brings some rigidity to the lid which is already integrally loose on the Sony case. The amount of play in the lid is why I sought out an exterior shell case in the first place.Previously I had tried another hard case with more flashy designs but found the fit was not seamless enough to prevent the lid from sliding around and become prone to snagging and popping open. Notebly, it loses the sleek shape of the Sony's bare case and adds some hardlines, but still looks anything but cheap.The material of the shell is highly fingerprint prone, so if youre use to Spigen phone cases, its the hard matte rubber that you are already used to. The primary advantage being it slips easily out of pockets with getting stuck or becoming a lint magnet.It charges well on wireless charge pads, and the case adds a much more stable bottom for the sonys so it does not accidentally fall over. The thickness does nothing to block the wireless charging and is easy to find the sweet spot for charging. I went ahead and added a silicon port cover for the exposed usb-c socket and now solely use my wireless chargers.The adhesive on the inside to secure the shell to the Sony case feels snug and there is no give. I would however take it slow when attaching it so that the two halves properly line up before the adhesive sets. The integrated ring to attach a keyring or chain is rugged but not overly stiff where you would worry about it shattering.Its a bit spendy but well worth the cost. My only gripe so far is that it barely makes the Sony XM4s case too thick to fit comfortably into my small pocket on my jeans. 9/10 for me.

Love, love, love this thing. Perfect fit and keeps my earbuds safe. Quality is outstanding material does not scratch like most rubbers or plastic's. I've had this for a few months now and I keep it in my pocket with my keys and it still looks brand new.

I am enthralled with my new Sony Buds, the best sounding of any I've owned to date. But I was a little disappointed at the tiny, somewhat fragile case it came in. I ordered this Spigen overcase out of curiosity knowing it could be returned if it was less than imagined. It makes the storage case larger, of course, which to me is a big positive since the original was a bit diminutive and perhaps more easily lost. I also love the clip that allows it to be suspended from, say, a belt buckle loop so its always handy and accessible. Everything is well designed and purposeful as expected from a company like Spigen. The case is held shut by a magnetic attraction. I don't really know if the Sony case itself provides all the magnetic "pull" since I had installed the overcase immediately. If so, since the Sony case is smaller and lighter, the magnetic attraction was probably more than enough. With the larger heaver lid in place, the case still closes and has been functional, but since it is dangling from my belt and bumping all day, I wish the force of the closure was just a bit more dynamic. It hasn't opened by itself yet and perhaps never will. But if I had to list a slight negative about the case, it would be for a bit extra magnetic force keeping it closed. Otherwise, highly recommended if not essential.

Fits like a Glove. Carabiner is heavy and made out of good quality materials. The case doesn’t limit wireless charging either. All in all it’s good so far. I’m just wondering how strong is the adhesive, with use everyday, and constant heat and wireless charges as well. Will have an updated review soon.

You Gotta Love the High Quality Material & Design! I love that slick silicone feeling and the black matte adds up to the coolness of this case. I’m thankful it doesn’t interfere with my wireless charging and I didn’t need to apply the adhesive & that’s a plus in my book. Really recommend it 👍
