New Power Steering Kit for Ford/New Holland Tractor 4000 4600

Easy to install and easy to operate my tractor now.

As others have mentioned, this does not fit the Ford 4000 very well.The biggest issue is the lack of a hole to make it fit correctly for my Ford 4000. I had to drill a fifth hole in the mount to mount the ram to the frame of the tractor.The hydraulic fluid tank does not have a proper mount, I had to bend/twist/weld a new one.The pump does indeed fit well. If you are handy with a drill this should work for you. And of course if you are doing this repair/upgrade (repair for me) then you are probably handy enough to do the modifications.

first the cylinder mounting brackets the holes were 1/8 out of line on center. but most of all it did not fit the 4000 to convert manual to power steering. Cylinder stroke is too short which would not allow the wheels to turn completely to the spindle stops. Being a mechanic for 50 some years i was able to install the kit by drilling the cylinder mounting bracket to the right location, shorting the left hand spindle arm to the same dimensions as the ford arm for power steering. This allowed for full turn of the wheels (stop to stop). Also had to make a mounting pad for the oil tank as the mounting bracket doesn't fit any where.
