Works very well. Mic and Speaker sound great. Computer picks it up every time.
This works nicely. Computer picks it up every time. I haven't had any trouble. I work from home and needed an audio out to put on my docking station. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Allows analog monaural audio input into MacBook
I had some old tape recordings that I needed to digitize. Mac's got no 3.5 mm analog audio input. :-(This device did the trick. The input appears to be restricted to monaural (single track to both stereo channels), but for speech that's fine. For music, this may not be ideal. The restriction might be due to my laptop (a 2015 MacBookPro) rather than the device, so YMMV.One note: This works fine as a stereo digital to analog output, so you can use your stereo wired headphones with your phone (assuming no 3.5 mm jack).

FINALLY! A way to use my mixer for recording again!
I've ordered a half dozen other "adapters" just like this one, and they've all been... well, terrible. The TRS / TRRS audio separator version that plugs into the 3.5mm dual purpose jack on my Macbook DEFINITELY doesn't work. Other USB versions somehow create static and are only occasionally recognized as an audio input.NOT THIS ONE. Microphone plugs into adapter, speakers plug into regular headphone jack on the Macbook and BOOM – perfect audio setup. I've already recorded a full podcast episode with the same quality I used to have on my old rig (with separate microphone input jack). Highly recommend this for anyone struggling with the stupidity of a single audio jack for line-in inputs.

Reduces volume level
Purchased this for my daughter to use at school. Unfortunately it greatly reduced the sound volume but luckily she doesn’t need this to use her headphones.

Unexpected Performance... Buy this if you own a MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Apple anything!
I ordered this a while ago but finally got around to using it after I started using Amazon Music's HD streaming through their app. On my 2017 MacBook Pro, the audio output level to external devices such as my AKG K371 headphones has been just okay. After plugging in this easy to use device and giving it a go, I am floored at the amazing sound quality and audio reproduction. It is levels above what comes stock on my MacBook Pro, and I recommend you get it if you're a audiophile! Listening to Fred Again - Marea (We've Lost Dancing) and the highs and lows are faithfully reproduced in its marvelous pro level sound quality! I did a little test to confirm I'm not hearing things so I switched back to my internal output on the MacBook Pro. The comparison is so striking and this product provides the best value for money on the market. I feel like I'm hooked in to an expensive external audio controller! So happy right now....HAPPY!!!

Does Not work for my Motorola Z2 Force...
I ordered this product yesterday, hoping to use it's USB-C connection for my Lavalier mic to make simple videos with better sound quality. It arrived today, in great time. According to the description, this should have worked for my phone. (Motorola Z2 Force - which does not have a 3.5in headphone jack. The Adapter Does Not Work. I tried the Mic port on the adapter, first, of course. I recorded a 10 sec video and spoke into the mic. (I use the same mic every Sunday, so I know it wasn't the mic). I disconnected the adapter from my phone and replayed the video with volume at 100%. The only sound was ambient audio recorded through my phone's internal mic.So I tried the headphone hack on the adapter, just in case there was a mis-labeling. But that didn't help either. Same result. The construction was solid, looked great. Packaging was fine. But the product just doesn't work - at least, not with my phone. I was hopeful, but... oh well. Sending it back asap.
