Q: How do you remove these once installed? Is there a release tab or is it just force to pop off?

-The top bracket is affixed using one of the factory hood hinge bolts. -The bottom bracket is bolted through one of the fabricating holes in the body using supplied hardware. --Uninstalling the brackets means removing bolts, and in the case of the top bracket, reinstalling the hinge bolt. -The strut assembly snaps on and off the brackets via a ball & socket joint. There is no release tab...it's forced, as you said.
