I have tried countless makeup products over the years and spent a long time debating: contour, bronzer, or both? I have definitively concluded that I love a cool-toned contour that adds a very natural and buildable shadow. If I want to, I can always add a bit of bronzer later, but the foundation of a good sculpt is this natural shadow. That is why e.l.f.’s Putty Bronzer in the shade Feeling Shady has been such an incredible find. What I love about it: The Perfect Undertone. Feeling Shady is truly cool-toned. Since it lacks orange undertones, it creates a realistic shadow for an elegant finish. Buildable Formula: It is extremely easy to work with. It allows you to go from an almost imperceptible shadow to a more defined contour without looking heavy or cakey. Climate Performance: I spend a lot of time in a warm climate, and I was pleasantly surprised by its durability; it stays in place and blends seamlessly. It will certainly perform impeccably in colder climates or during the winter season. Application Tip (Pro-Tip): I recommend using a fan brush for your cheeks. The key is to coat the brush evenly and apply it gradually. Since it’s so buildable, it’s best to start with a tiny amount and build up the contour until you reach your desired intensity.

I purchased the E.L.F. Putty Bronzer, Creamy & Highly Pigmented Formula in Honey Drip. I was looking for a product that would add a nice bronze tone to my face without looking cakey and thick. I’ve purchased E.L.F. products in the past and was always pleased so this bronzer appealed to me, and the price was good. The description states “Putty to Powder Finish”. To me “powder finish” implies a somewhat cakey look and I didn’t experience that. The color is deep and applies smoothly with a creamy feel and my skin felt soft and smooth and silky. I liked that it could be applied with a finger or a brush. My preferred method is to use a flat brush and build the color for a deeper bronze appearance. I also experienced more control when using it for contouring. The bronzer has a slight glow, but I only noticed it in a brighter environment. For me there is added moisture which is needed in an arid climate. I also noticed that the color lasted throughout the day. However, I haven’t worn the product on occasions when I was out in the rain or snow for any length of time and with that said, I can’t attest to the product being long lasting in these conditions. So just something to think about. Overall, I’m very pleased with the bronzer. It applies easily, is creamy and I’m able to build it to the color that works for me, and the price is good. It’s versatile in that it can be a bronzer or used for contouring. I highly recommend this product.

I found this very dark and hard to use. It didn’t spread easily on my face. Perhaps if I get a different color then I could see if the contour would work.

I am VERY fair skinned. Most boxers or contour pots look orange on me. This shade enhances my blue toned shadows so well! Highly pigmented but easy to blend. Doesn’t have a smell and does not break out my sensitive skin either. Can’t recommend it enough!

Not pigmented enough for contour or eyeshadow. I tried this for contour but it doesn't show up at all. The shade is good and cool tone contour isn't easy to find. I tried repurposing it as eyeshadow and I couldn't blend anything over it. It made my lids look really patchy. It also barely showed up there too.

Mooie bronzer. Makkelijk in gebruik en geeft een naturel, gebronsde look. Vervaagt wel na een tijdje dragen, zeker bij een iets meer vette huid.
